[Catherine Molanphy Subject: [support-system] ebay / Liz boots So, I was looking through the ebay listings for Liz stuff and came across many bootleg Cds and people are actually paying some pretty high prices for them. Bands who allow their shows to be recorded would never approve of people selling copies of their live shows and their taping policies always prohibit it. Since I never buy live recordings any more, and ususally trade or B&P for them, I thought it might be a good idea to get that going on this list. I just don't see it enough here. On some other music lists I belong to, people offer up shows all the time. So, here you go... a B&P offer for you all. Of course I would love to trade or B&P for shows I don't have as well. There is no reason to pay for live concert recordings since there is usually someone out there who will do it for free. If you're not familiar with B&P, you can read about it here: http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/ My full cd list is here: www.justinx.com/cd.htm - Liz is at the bottom of the list... let me know if you're interested - justin@justinx.com Justin ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2003 13:26:29 EDT From: LilRussianGirl@aol.com Subject: [support-system] liz on ellen, cubs Did anyone see Ellen? Did she play or get interviewed or both? I was listening to the radio and they were interviewing Sammy Sosa and what do I hear blaring in the background? "Why cant I breathe whenever I think about you? Why cant I..." so she must be getting played at stadiums now, too... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2003 20:29:05 -0400 From: Catherine Molanphy Subject: [support-system] LedZep 1V? > From: "Mark J. Anyone know which LedZep *song* that guitar thing is taken from? (IOW, what's the name of the song at the end of IV?) - --Catherine ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2003 20:17:50 -0400 From: Catherine Molanphy Subject: [support-system] Re: lizzy pop Oh yeah! Someone mentioned that one way back when... and I remember one interview with Liz when "Juvenilia" was released, and the writer said that she kind of "rolled her eyes" and said she was going through her "Iggy Pop" phase when she wrote that song. Thanks for reminding us, Allison... I'll add it to the list. :^) - --Catherine > From: biskinikill@aol.com > here's another song reference in a girlysound track... > > i was in my friend's car and he was playing an iggy pop tape. i'm grooving to > "nightclubbing" when the next song comes on and i hear "i like your hips" or > something like that. i'm like, there's something lizzy about this... > > she's absolutely ripping off of iggy pop's "funtime" in "south dakota." > > i feel smart. yay. > > allison ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Oct 2003 01:09:22 -0400 From: Jase Subject: [support-system] Liz on Trampoline Records compilation Liz's "Don't Apologize" is slated for inclusion on the _Trampoline Records Greatest Hits Volume 2_ compilation, which is scheduled to be released on October 14.
