He's actually playing live in October at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Check out www.catstevens.com for more info. And I changed my subject line just for you! ;) Jon - -----Original Message----- > It's actually a Cat Stevens tune from his second album "New Masters" from > 1967. Whoops... I didn't see this until I posted my own FYI. (that's why changing the subject header is a GOOD thing!) > The Sheryl Crow tune is also supposed to be on an upcoming Cat Stevens > tribute album. Really! I didn't know about that... he isn't dead or anything, is he? - - --Catherine - ------------------------------ ************************************ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Sep 2003 16:32:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Easter Subject: [support-system] Re: OT: More Cat << > The Sheryl Crow tune is also supposed to be on an upcoming Cat Stevens > tribute album. Really! I didn't know about that... he isn't dead or anything, is he? >> Cat Stevens is still alive, he changed his name after converting to Islam. I remember reading an article/interview with him after he agreed to have a greatest hits album or box set released. It was very weird because his him converting gave me a new perspective on things, including denying his rock n' roll past. I don't know what it will be like. I heard some of her solo stuff before and it was just all this weird noise and she didn't sing on it at all. She better sing on her solo album cause she has such a beautiful voice! Oh yeah, apparently, she was going to play a few gigs in Europe not long ago but had to cancel them cause her cd "auf der maur" was being mixed or some thing like that...Sally (pissed that Liz isn't coming out here for a promo tour...) P.S. I don't think ole Billy actually produced any of Celebrity Skin and anyways he was only there for 10 days out of the 4 (?) years Celebrity Skin took to make. You should read Eric's comments on his involvement on the Hole message board, he, like Everett True, appears to loathe him...all his comments are quite amusing, worth a read! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2003 08:28:32 -0600 From: "Jason Carroll" Subject: [support-system] Re: support-system-digest V6 #258 I thought 1st Cut is the Deepest was a Cat Stevens song. Rod Stewart surely couldn't have written his own song with the same title, could he? With the way he likes to sing other peoples songs I'd guess this is a 2nd generation remake of the Cat version. Correct me if I'm wrong. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V6 #260 ************************************
