Yet another example of her ability to stir things up, which is why we all love her so. - -----Original Message----- From: Exile217@aol.com [mailto:Exile217@aol.com] Sent: Friday, July 18, 2003 2:44 PM To: support-system@smoe.org Subject: liz on the radio (sort of) Dave Inman wrote: >>I'm confused, if I get satellite radio will I be more or less pretentious? so anyways, I thought I'd note that Sirius Satellite Radio plays "Why Can't I" on their station named "Trend". Last nite I heard My Bionic Eyes on wxrt in Chicago. So far they have played Extraordinary, Rock Me, Love/Hate now this. No wonder they are the only station I listen to. Question for Aimee Mann fans. I saw her the other nite on Leno. She was great. I'm going to see her in a few weeks. I heard Micheal Lockwood is now with Lisa Marie. Is that true? Hasn't he been with Aimee like forever? P.S. I did get a ticket to the Saturday show at Metro but they wont let you buy one so I had to buy two, I may have an extra if someone needs it. Later Lor SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jul 2003 23:53:52 -0400 From: Jase Subject: Re: Aimee Mann Lor wrote: > Question for Aimee Mann fans. I heard something about Michael Lockwood joining Lisa Marie's touring band as well, but didn't know if it was official or not. Is she even touring right now? Maybe Lockwood is doing double duty and still playing with Aimee when Lisa Marie's not touring. He has played with Aimee for quite a while now, at least as far back as _I'm With Stupid_. If he's not available to tour with her now, maybe she'll ask Buddy Judge to. He's played with Aimee off and on for well over a decade, before the release of _Whatever_. I don't think he's doing anything right now either, since Liz didn't recruit the members of her WCSE touring band to join her again this time. Regardless of who's playing with Aimee, I'm sure it'll a great show and I hope you'll have a good time. I've seen her a few times over the years and she's always been phenomenal. Also, since you like Aimee, if you haven't already heard it, try to download "Driving With One Hand on the Wheel." It's an _I'm With Stupid_ outtake that was released on the "Long Shot" single, which has been out of print for a while now. I think it's one of her best songs and I always wondered why she chose to leave it off that album. Cheers, Jase ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 00:30:56 -0400 From: Jase Subject: Liz on MuchMusic Just a heads up to all the Canadians on the list: "Why Can't I?" was the last video played on The Wedge tonight. It repeats again at 3:00 am, so if you want a chance to see the video and/or get it on tape, here's your chance. Up until now, I hadn't seen the video on either MuchMusic or MuchMoreMusic, although I've watched it several times on Liz's site. I figured if it showed up anywhere it'd be on MuchMoreMusic, since the video is getting played on VH1 instead of MTV in the States. So, not only was I surprised to see it on Much, it was even weirder seeing it on The Wedge, after an hour of videos by bands like Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Cat Power. I figured it would be way too "pop" for them, so I have to give them props for standing by Liz (who they've supported in the past) and playing the video regardless of what the indie elite might think. Also, as great as the video seems on the site, it's no match for seeing the real thing, which does it a lot more justice.
