I saw her 5 or 6 times during the wcse tour in 98 and she did play the same songs, same order, every time. i don't recall thinking that at the college tour or last few lilith shows, but i could be wrong - i just don't' remember thinking it for those. i know i thought that for the wsce shows because i was right in front and had continuously explained "what was going to happen next" to a reporter who was there who had lots of questions and seemed pretty confused about everything at the third Chicago show. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 09:15:02 -0600 From: "Jon Burk" Subject: Extraordinary So where are the mp3's for EXTRAORDINARY. I'm sure someone has one floating around SOMEWHERE... It has been on the radio once or twice around the country so I would assume it would make its way around the "circuit" soon, like TAKE A LOOK. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 12:47:20 -0500 From: ReallyHip@aol.com Subject: Re: Same Old Liz If you like Tori Amos and Pearl Jam... you had beter go on multiple dates. :) I've heard about 150 different songs performed in the ten times I've seen Tori Amos live. I think Liz may switch it up a bit... If Ken relays the message to her. :) - -Michael ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 13:20:36 -0500 From: "Daaaaan Theman" Subject: Extraordinary....? I have been so supportive of Liz throughout everything she has decided to do musically over the past 5 years. I love "Down", and even "Take a Look", but after hearing Liz sing that she's a "Average, everyday, sane, psycho, super-goddess" over and over, I'm just not so sure anymore. Maybe the rest of the song is better, but this is truly terrible. It reminds me of a worse version of that horrible song "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. I feel so sorry for Liz, I think after hearing this song it's clear that she's pretty fucking diluted if she is proud of this stuff. The sound opinions guys also talked about how amazingly talented she is, they weren't bashing her, just her new material/ outlook. They even mentioned the brilliance of "Girly Sound". Maybe the rest of the album will be better. Dan _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? I have not been able to verify any of this info, but what Ive heard through the grapevine is consistent enough for me to believe that it might be true. I have spoken with several parties that claim to have or heard the new album. Nobody has been willing or able to confirm the source of their copies except to repeat friend of a friend in the music business type stories. From the sound of it, none of the folks I've spoken with appears to have an industry-issued advance disc; everyone said that their copies did not come with cover art or a printed sleeve, etc. However, one person believed that his copy was burned from a regulation-issue advance promo. Another was told that the mixes and/or sequence might not be final. I started hearing whispers after SxSW started, which might mean that the album leaked in Austin. Tracklist: Extraordinary (3:24) Scared (4:52) Why Cant I? (3:28) Youre In Love With Me (2:55) Rock Me (3:19) Take A Look (3:29) [yay! - ed.] My Mother Is Mine (3:35) Firewalker (4:29) My Favorite Underwear (3:24) Its A War (3:43) Hot White Cum / White Hot Cum (2:55) [Ive heard 2 different versions of the title] Bionic Eyes (3:52) Friend of Mine (3:43) Let The Night Come (2:58) Heres a brief compilation of comments about the songs: the opening and chorus of Extraordinary features massive guitars; the opening of Youre In Love With Me has a Middle Eastern feel, with a sinuous sitar-sounding lead; My Mother Is Mine, Firewalker, and Friend of Mine are the down tempo cuts; My Favorite Underwear is a hoot; yes, White Hot Cum really is about white hot cum (Ive asked for lyrics); Bionic Man features retro distorted guitars; Friend of Mine and Its A War sound like they might be the demos that Liz has alluded to in interviews. I have been on the lookout (through my usual obsessive-compulsive record collector-type contacts and sources) for an advance cd of the new album, but have had zero luck to date obtaining an actual promo. If anyone with an officially-released seedee can confirm or deny any of this, please contact me off list. On a related note, basic info on the Japanese release of the album (title is listed as "TBA" [to be announced]) just turned up in wholesalers' stock catalogs (for an example, check http://www.tclimports.com).
