She is one of their Ten Women to Watch for in 2003. There's a little tidbit on there that is kinda interesting and very similar to many of the opinions voiced on this list w/ regards to the new album. Wonder if the writer has read support-system. hmmm. I wouldn't actually buy the mag tho--just read it in the store. What does everyone think of this magazine, btw? it seems to be getting more popular (they have switched from 4 issues a year to 6). I enjoy flipping through it because they devote lots of time to artists that other mainstream mags wouldn't devote time to. but im annoyed with the fact that the magazine is put out by Guitar One. a magazine that pretty much NEVER features women musicians. So instead of incorporating more women into their magazine...they create a separate magazine (so they can market one to men and the other to women--im pretty shocked that Rolling Stone didn't figure this out first)...that is such rubbish! and then there's the whole "Fashion" spread they do...sometimes it is interesting but sometimes it reeks of Maxim (for example, this month's Chantal Kwhatever's crotchshots). anyways. i think WWR is good and bad at the same time. kinda like will and grace :P eh. go buy the new throwing muses record. yes the best band in the world is back for a bit and rockin just as hard as ever. and it'll kick your ass. go to www.throwingmusic.com for info and TOUR DATES. yes, tour dates. :D also, check out the new kristin hersh record too..esp if you liked her first two acoustic records. steve. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Mar 2003 20:59:45 -0500 From: owner-support-system@smoe.org (by way of Jase ) Subject: Bounced message (Re: official site) From: "cheddarcat" Subject: Re: official site > Date: Sat, 08 Mar 2003 19:36:45 -0500 > From: Jase > Subject: RE: official liz site/picking pics > > At 06:38 PM 3/08/03 -0500, ZeeBee wrote: > >isn't she behind a piano? you're right though, it's nice to see a candid > >picture. > > That's what I thought too. I noticed that too, but I'm not all that concerned. Even if the record won't be out until "this summer," the delay will likely only be a month or two. They probably just need some extra time to put the finishing touches on the album -- maybe it's still being mixed or the artwork hasn't been completed yet. There doesn't seem to be any advance copies in circulation yet. If the album is to be released in May, those would likely start making the rounds soon. Maybe it's a strategic effort on Liz's part; there's a new Radiohead album coming out in early June and maybe she wants to wait until she'll have the benefit of Capitol's full promotional efforts. _whitechocolatespaceegg_ had been pushed back from a June release to August, and one of the reasons given at that time was that Capitol had a pretty full release schedule, including a Beastie Boys album and a few other high profile releases. If that's the case again, it might be best for another short delay, rather than have the album be overlooked. It already seems like the commercial expectations for this record might be a lot higher because of the Matrix collaborations. Hopefully we'll know more about the album's release soon. Personally, I'd be interested in seeing a full track list... Jase ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V6 #54 ***********************************
