My favorite album titles (though my picks change daily, maybe even minutely): Lovesongs for Underdogs (Tanya Donelly) Different Class (Pulp) In an Expression of the Inexpressible (Blonde Redhead) Vespertine (Bjork) Album titles I really just don't like at all: Version 2.0 (Garbage) XO (Elliot Smith) Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea (PJ Harvey) Happy Tragic Thing (Liz) Happy day to you all, Jaime "If you don't have anything nice to say, come and sit by me." - -Alice Roosevelt Longworth ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Feb 2003 02:04:28 -0500 From: "john kim" Subject: mariah carey rules not "sparkle" "GLITTER" i thought "music box" was pretty mediocre as an album title (as opposed to awful.) _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. "isn't dat veered??" i'm waiting for "pretty leaves i found somewhere," "my pet unicorn," or, ok, "eyeshadow." yeah... if she really wanted to "get real" she'd go with "what's my name again?" or "eight straight hours of sleep---priceless." hey, this is fun...! can't wait to see liz on tour!! dp ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Feb 2003 03:32:57 -0500 From: Jase Subject: Album titles Some album titles I like: Sticky Fingers (The Rolling Stones) Live Through This (Hole) My Aim is True (Elvis Costello) Gun Shy Trigger Happy (Jen Trynin) Exile in Guyville (Liz) Daydream Nation (Sonic Youth) I'm With Stupid (Aimee Mann) Under the Bushes, Under the Stars (Guided By Voices) Singles Going Steady (The Buzzcocks) Blood on the Tracks (Bob Dylan) Court and Spark (Joni Mitchell) Lolita Nation (Game Theory) The Dirt of Luck (Helium) Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and My Home (The Geraldine Fibbers) Psychocandy (The Jesus and Mary Chain) Last Splash (The Breeders) Slanted and Enchanted (Pavement) From Ritual to Romance (The Loud Family) London Calling (The Clash) To Bring You My Love (PJ Harvey) Or maybe that's just a list of my favorite records. And I don't think Pearl Jam's album titles are so hot, but that's OK, cause I love the music contained within. Take care all, paige- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Feb 2003 12:30:33 -0500 From: RBRainee@aol.com Subject: Re: Album titles I'm not sure if anyone on this list knows of this band, cuz it's an indie band I follow...But they are called Antigone Rising. Many people had trouble pronouncing the name Antigone, most often calling them "Anti Gone Rising". So what did the band do? They titled their next recording as such: Say It! An-TIG-uh-nee Nothing like a little phonetics to get it right. I thought that was rather inventive of them.
