If this lyric means > what I think it does, she had her whole career mapped out from the beginning > and is enjoying the controversy immensely. sorry, but i doubt that--WHAT controversy? a small handful of internet fans saying they are scared that she's selling out? i dont think that's much of a controversy finally compiling my top ten...will send it out tonite hopefully. steve. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Dec 2002 23:44:01 -0500 (EST) From: Stephen Griffes Subject: top ten of 2002 (and then some) here's my top ten: 10. Delta Dart - Fight or Flight 9. Rasputina - "Cabin Fever!" 8. Andrew WK - I Get Wet 7. Dixie Chicks - Home 6. Patty Griffin - 1000 Kisses 5. Sleater-Kinney - One Beat 4. Tanya Donelly - BeautySleep 3. Marianne Faithfull - Kissin' Time 2. The Breeders - Title TK 1. Tori Amos - Scarlet's Walk I had trouble narrowing that down, and those are probably not as in order as I think they are right now...but those are the new cds I listened to most this year. I also really liked Dolly Parton's "Halo and Horns," Beth Orton's "Daybreaker," Allison Moorer's "Miss Fortune," and Cyndi Lauper's Shine EP. There were a couple albums this year by artists i really like that were okay but I didn't really get into for some reason...melissa ferrick's "listen hard" and neko case's "blacklisted." lauryn hill unplugged woulda made my list if there wasn't all the goddamn preaching in between songs. that so could have been one cd if the ranting parts were edited out! if i really wanted all the stories behind the songs i woulda bought the damn dvd. songs I listened to on repeat (in no order): Factory - Martha Wainwright Still No Sparks (or whatever it's called...from the KRS Comp) - Delta Dart Sliding through life on Charm - Marianne Faithfull Huffer - Breeders Oh! - Sleater-Kinney Be Careful/Nobody's Cryin - Patty Griffin Modern Things - Yeah Yeah Yeahs Knock Loud - Neko Case When Doves Cry - Patti Smith Become You - Indigo Girls Another Girl's Paradise/Stange - Tori Amos k Steve. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V5 #262 ************************************
