Dressy Bessy - Sound Go Round (LOVE IT!), Juliee Cruise "The Art of Being a Girl" really cool shit - she's the singer from Twin Peaks and stuff - usually working with David Lynch and ANgelo Badalamenti (sp?) but this album is great..loving it. I agree w/ whoever said they like FROU FROU. I absolutely hated Imogen Heap - but i really like this new incarnation as Frou Frou! :) also - the new Dot Allison "We are Science" is pretty cool too... the new Sinead album is pretty good too, for a covers record of traditional Irish songs..i am really liking it and i didn't think i would.. but...the Aimee Mann CD is dominating my CD player right now..cannot get enough of this..it's getting to the point where this might be my favorite Aimee Mann album! anyway, gotta run... dan ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 02:11:03 -0400 From: Dan MacDonald Subject: sorry - while we are on the subject of new Aimee Mann - has she been fighting or involved w/ someone who has had a drug problem? seems there are SEVERAL references (negative and positive) to drugs on the new album..almost like a theme..and the fact that there is the pic of the drug store with the big words DRUGS in the inlay just kinda confirms this theme...anyone know the deal behind this? dan ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 02:33:48 EDT From: AWeiss4338@aol.com Subject: Aimee while we are on the subject of new Aimee Mann - has she been fighting or involved w/ someone who has had a drug problem? seems there are SEVERAL references (negative and positive) to drugs on the new album..almost like a theme..and the fact that there is the pic of the drug store with the big words DRUGS in the inlay just kinda confirms this theme...anyone know the deal behind this? dan She wanted to write an album about addiction, not just drugs but other kinds as well. I like the theme, it really is a different way of looking at this. Try The Moth for another type of addiction, as in sex. She's clean, and as far as I know she's never been involved with someone who used them. Hey all, I found this in the newsgroup alt.fan.liz-phair. Anyone see this program? From: SndayGrl76 (sndaygrl76@aol.com) Subject: Liz a "Wannabe" Judge? Newsgroups: alt.fan.liz-phair Date: 2002-09-21 09:12:07 PST Don't know if this is new news for anyone, but I was flipping channels today and paused on a show called "Wannabe" on MTV-- people audition, get made up, and then vie to be the most like some musician. The focus of this particular show was No Doubt's Gwen Stefani (who admitted to me once she wasn't "into Liz's vibe") Anywho, there was Liz at the judge's table sifting through resumes and head shots of what looked to be 100's of "wannabes" until they decided on 3 girls. Anyone else know if this is a regular gig for her?? - -Ken kenmlee@ix.netcom.com MeSmErIzInG - AnOtHeR LiZ PhAiR WeBsItE http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Club/2471/ ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V5 #208 ************************************
