I stumbled across that interview earlier this evening while visiting the Kill Rock Stars site. I was going to post something about it, but it looks like you beat me to the punch. I'm not sure who I'd want to see Liz tour with. A lot of the artists and bands I listen to aren't all that musically similar to Liz's work, so in most cases, it'd be a slightly odd pairing. I guess an Aimee Mann/Liz Phair double bill would make the most sense out of anything I could come up with. The new Sleater-Kinney album is phenomenal. I ordered it from Kill Rock Stars as soon as they started taking orders for it and it showed up in my mailbox this afternoon. I've already played it about half a dozen times and I doubt it'll be leaving my CD changer anytime soon. The CD version also comes with a bonus CD single that has the same songs that are on the bonus 7" that comes with the LP. The songs on the single are just as good as anything on the album itself, so I encourage anyone who plans on buying the album to order it as soon as possible, as the bonus single is limited to something like the first 25,000 copies, according to one of the KRS newsletters a while back. The album will be in stores next Tuesday, for those who don't wish to order it online. Is she **serious** that she thinks Pete Yorn's Eagles-meet-Wilco songs are "sort of" like her own? Can anyone listen to that Pete Yorn record and even believe the Brad Wood of _Exile In Guyville_, Sunny Day Real Estate, Placebo and Far produced it? I wish Liz would just get it over with, release an album called _The Beach in Southern California is Great (When You're Rich)_ with Sheryl Crow and Pete Yorn doing guest vocals, and maybe Dave Matthews playing guitar on the first single. That would just let us all quit hoping that there's a glimmer left of the quirky girl who made the best album of the '90s. Grrr. Maybe she'll end up putting out a fantastic "autumn cd". that'd be cool.... at any rate - dan ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2002 18:51:22 EDT From: LilRussianGirl@aol.com Subject: (no subject) There is flooding in Prague.
