Kim was the perfect profile of the brilliant and tormented rock legend - drunk as hell and a total mess - but a musical genius none the less. they even played a damn TKD6K song - Future Boy. great set. kim and kelley's parents were even there! just thought i'd share w/ any breeders fans. jase - u going to see them at lee's palace in toronto tomorrow or wednesday? i'm debating making the trip to catch them again because they never cease to blow me away. (if only it were liz reviews we were posting.. :( laters, dan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 14:51:31 -0400 From: Jase Subject: Re: OT - Breeders Dan wrote: >jase - u going to see them at lee's palace in toronto tomorrow or >wednesday? i'm debating making the trip to catch them again because they >never cease to blow me away. >(if only it were liz reviews we were posting.. :( I'm glad you had a good time seeing them last night. Your review has me pretty psyched to see them -- I'll be going to the show tomorrow night at Lee's Palace. I wanted to go see them both nights, but my work schedule won't allow for it. I couldn't get Wednesday off work, and if I were to see both shows, I'd want to stay overnight in Toronto on Tuesday. It'd be too much of a pain to go to Toronto, come back here, then repeat it again the following night. Not that the Breeders aren't worth it; it's just that it's been a hectic month and I'm on the verge of exhaustion. Hopefully the show tomorrow night will be just what I need to unwind. I'm also going to be seeing Sonic Youth in Toronto next month, and possibly also the Mary Timony/Le Tigre show. And then there's Wire in September... I have had a couple of people e-mail me to volunteer, but I haven't had a chance to send any replies yet. Can we tell how unorganized I am at the moment? I swear, I'll try to get to it soon. I owe e-mails to a few other people as well; I'm trying, really I am, but timely replies seem to be my downfall. I think it's because I write about 20 e-mails at work every day; by the time I get around to reading my own mail, I'm too burnt out to bother. If Dan does go to the Breeders show in Toronto tomorrow, maybe he can kick my ass about it. That may just be the motivation I need... :\ Jase ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 21:29:49 -0700 From: "flower" Subject: listening preferences... there is a lot of talk on the list about other artists/bands everyone is into. recently i think there has been talk about juliana hatfield, the breeders, aimme mann, and some artists i've never even heard of! i think that the three artists i've mentioned above are fine and i've listened to them before, but it's nothing that i listen to regularly or anything. me, if i don't have my radiohead, doves, portishead, or sigur ros cds then i might as well be dead. i know that i am just about the only one of my friends who listens to liz. i'm bound to run into just about everyone i know at say, a badly drawn boy gig, but chances of me seeing even one person i know at a liz gig (assuming there is one in the future)are slim. is there anyone who has similar tastes to me or am i a complete liz phair fan marvel? and jase, thanks for the response to the phairities question. and dan, don't forget to kick his ass about it if you make it to the breeders gig.. ;) xx. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V5 #141 ************************************
