(There were maybe 50 people total? It totally reminded me of Liz's Lounge Ax show -- she played a great set, interacted with the crowd, had fans come up to sing with her onstage, then afterwards she just mingled with everyone at the bar, signed CDs, talked to fans, and the most coincidental thing was that they cleared out the tables and began rehearsing for a local store's fashion show!). Anyway, Marykate O'Neil opened for her. I'd never heard of her, wasn't expecting much, and I was really blown away. She was great, even with just her and her guitar. I know how I have always appreciated that this list has recommended artists that I have checked out and then been hooked on after learning about, so if you haven't heard of her I recommend checking her out. She kind of reminds me of Sarah Harmer, only happier. Here's her website: http://marykateoneil.com/ I bought her new CD and am pretty hooked on it right now. I think that some of the songs I enjoyed acoustic and bare much better, but others are better just as they are on the CD. And, even though one of the songs on the CD *is* a Spice Girls cover, I can forgive her, overall it's good stuff. Hope you all are having a great summer! =) ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V5 #139 ************************************
