If you desire more than one, please submit another order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. ** I got this message from Circuit City's website when trying to order 2 copies of Guyville. What gives? I have discovered Guyville again after quite a hiatus from Liz altogether. How refreshing it has been! There will never be another Guyville. What ever happened to the Julie Johnson soundtrack? Is it available? Any luck that Cherish will be available on video for the rest of us to see anytime soon? Hey, and thanks for the "new" Liz stuff, Ken. =) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 02 Jul 2002 15:05:46 -0400 From: Jase Subject: Re: rationing Liz ? Julie Johnson still hasn't received a wide release theatrically, so the soundtrack probably won't be released until that happens. So far, the film has only played a few festivals. The film is supposed to be released later this year by Universal Focus, though, so maybe we'll have a few new Liz songs before year-end. I'm starting to sincerely doubt we'll see the new album this year, since it's now July and there's still no word of the record even being finished, let alone any talk of a release date. I don't mind as much as I normally would, though. There's already been a lot of great albums released this year, with more on the way. It's all I can do to find time to listen to the ones I've already bought. So far, there's been releases by Sonic Youth, Wilco, Trail of Dead, The Breeders, Juliana Hatfield, Guided by Voices, Mary Timony, Paul Westerberg, and many others I'm likely forgetting. Still to come: new Flaming Lips, Aimee Mann, Sleater-Kinney, Stephen Malkmus... 2002 will be the year I finally go bankrupt after spending too much on CDs and shows. Also, to bring this back to Liz-related territory, I still want to distribute the new Phairities compilation, as well as my attempt to clean up the Girly Sound tapes (which will never sound perfect, but I'm trying to make them more listenable than past CD bootlegs). I don't have much free time these days, though, which makes things difficult. Is there anyone would be interested in taking the reins and organizing a CD tree? I'll send you copies of the discs and help in any way I can, but I get the feeling if this is ever going to happen, it's best to not leave it up to me. Not until my life settles down a little bit, anyway. So, any takers? Jase ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V5 #134 ************************************
