Hey anyone who has seen the movie or read many reviews - how is Liz's performance in the film going over? Can she act? Is it a strong character? Or is it just "Hey cool - that's Liz Phair and anyone who recognizes her will think it's cool that she's got a part in the movie" kinda role? Or is her acting painful to watch, ala Madonna in Body of Evidence/Everything she's ever done except Evita? Windsor's indie film theatre is under some major renovations, so we're not getting any cool little films here for the next month or so which sucks. The fact that Jason Priestly is in the movie scares me. I know he is trying to pick cooler movies and turn himself around, but I'm sorry - he's Brandon Walsh forever to me and I prefer Keaneau Reeve's acting over his, which is pretty damn pathetic. at any rate - just wondering if there is a chance we could lose liz to the silver screen - or if it was a bad experience that will send her back into the studio where we all love her the most... dan NP - Patti Smith - "Gone Again" ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jun 2002 13:23:04 -0400 From: "shimmer shimmer like a trent should" Subject: RE: liz's performance.. Warning ::My Humble Opinion:: The movie is a really good. It is not what I expected it to be.....I think you guys will like it. Liz is pretty good in her role (as a bitchy type), but she only has like 6 scenes (not including a scene in a record shop where a flat for WhiteChocolateSpaceEgg is displayed prominently in the foreground). The movie is 99.7% Robin Tunney (who did an *amazing* job). I don't want to give anything away......it's a great film and Liz holds her own (though, like I said, she wasn't in it very much). Jason Priestly (who has, sadly, gotten rid of his pork-chop sideburns) is wretched.......thankfully he only has like 4 scenes. trent Ps: .....and Steve, you can beat me and I promise to like it ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jun 2002 15:41:39 -0700 (PDT) From: SHERLY McLACHLAN Subject: RE: She's on the silver screen I'm with you Athiena. While I wisher her success in everything she does. I don't want her to get wrapped up in the Hollywood seen and forget all about her music. That would really suck! I hope she reads this shit. Come on Liz, where the hell is the new cd.
