Is there material anything like Liz's? Maria's material isn't anything like Liz's. Lesssee...have you seen Days of Thunder? The gutwrenching power 80s-sounding power ballad at the end is Maria. Not that great of a song (which Jessica Andrew's proves w/ her cover) but a good example of what her voice (one of the best voices around, imho) can do. If you wanna check her out, what you should start with kinda depends on what kinda music you like. If you like 80s sounding country/rock music check out either of Lone Justice's albums--you can get them extremely cheap on cdnow. If you want edgier, check out their comp "This World Is Not My Home." Some early cowpunk tracks, LJ's best studio recordings, and a couple killer live tracks that make janis joplin sound sedate. her first couple solo albums are kinda blandish pop music with a hint of country and soul. they grow on you. her third album "Life Is Sweet" is totally different and sounds like Alanis if she had Kate Bush's talent. Now, that I think of it, she has a collection out (one of those "ultimate" ones that never really seem that ultimate). I am not sure I know who Rosie Thomas is, someone enlighten us.
