The address is at the bottom of my e-mail. Liz did look really tanned and i noticed she was wearing a shirt that said "Lei'd" on it. Hopefully she has just gotten back from a vacation in Hawaii, rewarding herself for concluding work on her Album with Michael Penn. Silly me thought she was on last night and tonight instead of tonight and tomorrow. It was actually a lot more satisfying than just listening to the song. Visuals really do add something. But that's a given. Wow, she was really tan! And her outfit was better than Sheryl Crow's. I like that Liz was given her fair share of close-ups, but I still felt like "Why is she only singing back-up?" It could have been anyone doing that part. But whatever, it's cute that she and Sheryl Crow are buddies. My brother made this comment about Liz: "She's so hot!" Andrea S.Get more from the Web. Hello all! I'm planning on seeing the opening of 'Cherish' tomorrow in SF. It's playing at 6, or so, at the Kabuki AMC theatre downtown. So I'll tell you how it goes and hopefully some of you shall be there. I'll probably clap when her name appears on screen (assuming it does). I'm quite excited. I like Robin Tunney a lot too. It's small but there. "There are stations in America that wouldn't play 'Your Ghost' (the single from Hips) because they were playing too many women's songs. They wouldn't play Liz Phair ever. They play Tori Amos because she's faggy and stupid, they would never play P.J. Harvey even though she's faggy and stupid. They play Tori Amos and (screwing her face up in disgust) Natalie Merchant (10,000 Maniacs) and that's too many women. (Getting angry). They could never say they played too many blacks, but they are allowed to say 'Kristin Hersh? No, but if Kristin was playing in a rock band then it wouldn't be women's music anymore' - what do they think I've been doing for the past 10 years?" - -Nathan _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2002 06:30:39 -0500 From: "Mike Katsoulis" Subject: liz on leno i waited all week to see it and then forgot about it at the last second... is there anyone that can load it on to the web for others to download? i would REALLY appreciate that... thank you mike ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2002 09:16:55 -0500 (CDT) From: auptmo@artic.edu Subject: sheryl 'n liz Does anyone agree with me that Sheryl's performance last night was the most dreadfully off-key one I've ever heard from her? I watched the show with a friend who doesn't particularly like dear Liz, but exclaimed at one point during the song, "Liz Phair is the only thing keeping me from plugging my ears right now!" Sheryl may be cute as a button, but she's got nowhere near the amount of talent and stage presence as Liz... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2002 11:48:38 -0400 From: drpeak@juno.com Subject: Liz on Leno Okay, I missed the Sheryl/Liz gig on Leno. It confirms my suspicion that part of the Liz/Sheryl show is Liz's way of learning the professional part that she bypassed in her accidental entry into music. It did seem telling, though, that Crow is in the studio recording, while Liz is goofing around obstructing those who are busy working. Again, I wonder if by hanging around with Crow she hopes some of Crow's discipline to rub off on her. The other thing that struck me was how much they both seemed to enjoy each other's company (even Leno noted it), and that it's not a one-way street. Crow gets her own personal cheering section, a little sister who looks up to her, and Liz gets the big sister she never had to show her the ropes she'd managed to jump over the first time. I'm not sure what it signifies, if anything, but I can't ever remember a sudden duo pairing of solo artists like that before, but I can't help but think it's ultimately a positive sign for Liz's musical future (though in typical Liz fashion I doubt it's a calculated move by her or her label).
