This is pretty much the pattern, right? Our gal, as much as we love her, doesn't have much of a work ethic. And I gotta say, if her label is hemorrhaging artists, I'm sure she wouldn't be a top priority. She does at least have a name, but she's never had a real, bona fide hit. She'd end up at a major indie, I'm sure. I'm thinking more and more that Liz wants to be Sheryl Crow, not PJ Harvey. I'm not complaining...it's her prerogative. I don't really want her to record Exile again. But I can't help but wish she was a bit more motivated to do something idiosyncratic. I watched the video clip of Sheryl over-the-top explaining the all-too-simple meaning of the song. It reminded me of Britney Spears quotes for Crossroads- ("It's a film about friendship," "friendships under hard times" "friendships at crossroads"..." I always do I Love Rock nRoll when I go to karaoke,"....blah bleh blah blahhhh) I could go on but back to Sheryl - big deal, you're soaking up the sun. Cute metaphor...really.... And will somebody agree with me when I say that Alanis using lyrics like "my posse" seems strange and a stretch? Maybe Ironic annoyed me too but she's capable of being wordy in a good way.... And will ANYBODY agree with me when I say that it brings me down, down, down if songs like Down are what we are to anticipate in an Evening With... But I'm just a liz little leaguer, laurenplaying van morrison's lost tapes - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail.
