Reading this, I had to wonder what effect it would have on Miz Phair. I know that labels like to keep a few critically acclaimed artists on their label for vanity's sake, but it looks like EMI/Capitol are looking at the bottom line. I hope in all the shake-ups that happen that Liz isn't dropped from her label. I just don't see her making it as an independent artist like say Aimee Mann.
