Subject: etiquette problem So.... further to the great gig on thursday (Tanya Donelly and Mary Lorson) i mooched along to the Notting Hill Arts Club on saturday to see Mary do a solo show. As i walkded down the stairs from the street there was an oldish lady and a young girl there and i thought that maybe they were lost, or just investigating the strange doorway. i walked past them and went to open the door when it flew open and Tanya burst out. I decided to say Hi and stuff (i'd met her a few years ago and know she's approachable). She looked at me and siad she thought she knew me and i told her my name and she remembered me. She then said... 'this is my little girl and my mom'. So there i was, with three generations of Donelly's. What to do? i congratulated her daughter on her playing on Tanya's album, but hadn't a clue what to say to Mrs Donelly Snr. Has anyone else met a rock stars mum? what do you say? Mary played a great show and Tanya squeezed out of the crowd to join her for three numbers. It'll probably be the last time Mary plays here for some time due to her expecting. If she plays near you, go see her, make the most of it. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Mar 2002 06:19:53 -0800 (PST) From: Craig King Subject: Re: support-system-digest V5 #45 Hey KB! Long time no see! I really can't believe that it's actually been 3 years since that infamous Liz show. Seems like just yesterday. That was such a fun time! Man do I sound like a dork talking to Jase while he's trying to record the show. Fortunately you can't hear me too much. :-D Yes, I am engaged. I proposed to my girlfriend over this past Christmas and we plan on getting married in August of next year. It's all very exciting! In Liz related stuff, I finally saw the Sheryl Crow "Soak Up The Sun" video. Very cool stuff! I like the song, but why is that so many people insist on using drum machines? What happened to the old fashioned way of actually playing the drums. I mean sometimes, if it is used right, it sounds good, but it seems like everyone is doing it. Not that it's anything new, but it just irks me for some reason. Ok, enough of my little rant. :-D Later all! Craig ===== *Live for Metal, die for Megadeth* Yahoo!
