I think that was the name) and the closer was - divine hammer, which was TOOO good. I might be missing a song or two - but that's basically the order of them - they were incredible. THe new stuff sounds STRONG as hell - the song Title TK has them harmonizing in a way I didn't know they could!!! Kim and Kelley were completely non-pretentious - both wandered around during the opening acts, cheered for the bands, (many people in the crowd didn't even realize it was the deals). I got to talk to them several times - they signed my CD inlays (kelley signed Last Splash, kim signed Pod) - when Kim walked out to do her soundcheck before the show, she stopped in her tracks - pointed at me and said "You were at the show in Ohio in January, right?" and I was like.... "Um...not that I can remember..." and she said "Fuck - I gotta piss so bad." hahaha...but they were fantastic - Kim was a little drunk/stoned as usual - she never left her beers sitting there for too long, and Kelley was sipping Mountain Dews and chain smoking all night - but she is a sweetie!! So nice - - but she looked a little on the baked side too - she REALLY watches Kim for her cues in the music, and she counts out the pace and beat of the song for when her guitar parts come up - which was really cute. Their voices were incredible, they sound just like they do on CD - it was great to see such a REAL band - the new guys are pretty cool too - they add a lot to the music - but it's totally Kim Deal's show all the way - her guitar playing is like NOTHING else I've seen - so damn different/original - - she has such a sound. The minute she started strumming hard on her guitar at the heavy part in No Aloha - I was just like "Okay...I just died and went to heaven." It was great - and they are both really REALLY cool and nice. If anyone gets the chance - go see them - if not for the fantastic music, then at least for the hilarious drunken twin-sister banter between songs. Can't WAIT for the album, Dan. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 13:40:28 -0500 From: "can't get trent out of your head" Subject: RE: Breeders show Twas an amazing show, and the first opening band "Shesus" was totally f-ing amazing... don't know if they are touring with the Breeders on the whole tour but you definitley should not miss them.... - -----Original Message----- From: owner-support-system@smoe.org [mailto:owner-support-system@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Dan MacDonald Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2002 10:48 AM To: support-system-digest@smoe.org Subject: Breeders show Saw the Breeders last night in Detroit - let me just say it was probably one of the greatest shows I've ever seen!! set list was something like: no aloha, tipp city, title tk, saints, little fury, head to toe, IJWGA, too alive, flipside, doe, forced to drive, iris, safari, full on idle, pacer, buffy the vampire slayer theme song!!!!, fortunately gone, Son of 3 (??
