From mtv.com: - -- All of Sheryl Crow's collaborating over the last couple of years apparently gave the singer some ideas for her fourth studio album. The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 1998's The Globe Sessions, due in late March, will include contributions from several big-name artists, including Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Lenny Kravitz and the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines, according to Crow's Interscope Records spokesperson. "Soak up the Sun," the album's first single, is due in February and features additional vocals by fellow female rocker (and could-be twin sister) Liz Phair. - -- How's about that? I suspect Soak Up The Sun will be a hit, wouldn't that be werid to turn on the radio and hear Liz on the top 40, but not the Britney top 40, adult top 40, the newest kind of top 40, so it would be like 5 For Fighting, The Calling, and other bands/people like that. I kind of like the idea. In the card I included a letter which explained the digest and also included information on how she could read and post to it, as well. Unfortunately, she has never showed up here! But she did receive the card, thanks to an anonymous Oberlin alumnist who was nice enough to mail it on to her.... So who knows....maybe she checks in and we just don't know it! :P Hope this helped answer your question.... I think it was pretty much confirmed that it was truly liz that posted. They Liz Sheryl Crow thing sounds pretty cool. I wouldn't describe myself as a Huge crow fan (i don't dislike her or anything, just kinda neutral i guess) but I'll give this a listen. later Robert ===== - ------------------------------------------------------------ "But life is good; it's not as bad as Thom Yorke would have you believe." - Noel Gallagher, Oasis - ------------------------------------------------------------ Send FREE video emails in Yahoo! Crow spent time in New York City last year working on the record, popping up for star-studded surprise gigs that included appearances by the likes of Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kid Rock. And while Rock and Paltrow were initially rumored to be singing on the upcoming album, Nicks is the only one from those performances confirmed for the album. Nicks lends backing vocals to "You're Not the One." But Crow has enlisted a number of other guests to offer up vocals. Liz Phair contributes to "Soak Up the Sun," while Lenny Kravitz and Don Henley chip in on "You're an Original" and "It's So Easy," respectively. The first single from the album will be "Soak Up the Sun," which will go to radio next month. In an audio message to fans on her Web site, Crow said she expects 2002 to be "a really busy year, and we're going to be doing a lot of touring."" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2002 22:13:45 -0800 From: Kenneth Lee Subject: Liz Phair contributes to Sheryl Crow's next album Hi all, I have come out of hiding to report that Liz has contributed her vocal talents to a track on the next Sheryl Crow album.
