Natalie Im-fucking-bruglia? I feel very badly for Liz in that Capitol doesn't feel strongly enough about her own genius style. She should be writing on her own damn songs. Lyrically and melodically, "Down" is brilliant. It gave me hope that her new album would actually be something to look forward to. Now I fear that it will be just some Sheryl Crow-esque crap. At least if it sucks, she'll realize her mistakes and make an even better album in response. I wonder when that ould come out, 2015 maybe? -Dan - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 03 Nov 2001 14:41:57 -0800 From: "Nathan Carrera" Subject: no jon. I would oppose Jon Brion because liz usually doesn't play the solo's and jon probably would and he has his own sound that would probably pollute liz's. I love Jon Brion but his guitar work sticks out like mad. Nina Gordon is a fine example. love, nathan - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Nov 2001 20:02:25 -0500 From: "Chris DeLisle" Subject: Spiritualized (nearly non-Liz content) Liz content up-front: Ken, nice to see some more pictures of Liz ~ do those P.45 pictures come out every now and then, or do you think she has some kind of recurring gig modelling for them? anyway, if anyone out there wants to be completely blown away by a live show, go see the band Spiritualized. i saw them in Detroit @ the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday, and i think i'm just now recovering from the show. i've never just stood up at a concert and smiled like a blithering idiot for so long before because i couldn't help it. it might have had something to do with all the smoke in the room, but i'm guessing it had a lot more to do with the music. it was quite an extra-sensory experience. if you're not familiar with them (and not familiar with the legendary Spacemen 3, of which Jason "Spaceman" Pierce was a member), go out and see them or pick up one of their albums, preferably "Ladies And Gentlemen We're Floating In Space" or the "Live @ The Royal Albert Hall" album. it's about the best that's out there, now that Radiohead is finished touring for a while (and missing the Detroit area) and we're still waiting on Liz (and Sleater-Kinney) to put out another album. chris deLisle (who doesn't give a shit WHO produces the next Liz album, just as long as he or she is getting the job done) ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #283 ************************************
