hey folks,

I don't know what to make of the Penn/Phair pairing..........I'm not crazy 
about Penn's music, I think his melodies can be pretty dull, which is 
unfortunate because his wife (Aimee Mann) can put out songs of melodic 
genius.........So it worries me that Penn would have something to offer to 
Liz other than some freakish ornamentation to her music (which Brad Wood does 
just fine).......Jon Brion would probably be a better choice.  
Although Penn's understated production of Aimee's "Wise Up" is great....(go 
figure).........At the very least maybe he can bring his wife in the studio 
to do some backup vocals !!!! (talk about a match made in heaven)

And I'm sorry, but if Liz starts working with Stephan Jenkins on any regular basis, I would almost not even buy her record.  Seriously, that guy is one of the hardest pills to swallow I've seen in a really, really long time.

Let's just hope it was for this one good cause.

I like that Michael Penn is working with Liz, his production an be as good as 
his music, I think it will turn out just fine. But Jon would have been ok 
too. Aimee and Liz singing together, that would be awsome!
