Scarnella? Yep, been listening to Carla for quite a while now. I still count the Geraldine Fibbers album "Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and My Home" as my fave album of all time. You can find some info on Shannon Wright at http://www.southern.com/southern/band/SHAWR/ and at http://knowwave.com/shannonwright/ D.R.Peak RE: Subject: Holy crap... Scarnella? Geez... Didn't know anyone really listened to Scarnella, let alone on this list... I think Carla's the greatest. I love her voice, and her and Nels are great together. Been a big fan since Ethyl Meatplow and Geraldine Fibbers. Haven't heard of Shanon Wright... I'll have to look into that. - - -michael ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! The information on the AMG site isn't totally accurate. Jen did have an EP called _Trespassing_, but it was released in 1988. It was her very first release. Unfortunately, the label it was put out by went bankrupt shortly after its release, and it's long been out of print. Once in a while, a copy will turn up on eBay, but you really need to keep your eyes open. I have a copy of it on cassette, taped for me by another fan who owns the EP. It doesn't really sound much like _Cockamamie_ or _Gun Shy Trigger Happy_; it's more of an acoustic folk thing. I've made copies of it for a few other Trynin fans; usually the common response to it is that it sounds a little dated now. Jen did post a note on her Web site a few months back, saying that she is working on something new, but there have been no updates since that time. She may not necessarily even be doing music on a full-time basis again yet; this could just be something she's working at whenever she has the time to. Hopefully there will be another news announcement with a few more details sometime soon. Anyone who's interested in checking out Jen's music should visit her site at [http://www.jentrynin.com]. It's about the only place you can find her CDs these days; officially, there's no longer in print. It's a damn shame, as _Gun Shy Trigger Happy_ is, in my opinion, among the 10 greatest albums released in the '90s. For that matter, _Cockamamie_ isn't very far behind either. Side note: Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Life's been especially hectic for the last little while. I still intend to coordinate distribution of the Phairities compilation; I just need to find a block of time where I can sit down and finish organizing that uninterrupted. I also still want to finish cleaning up the Girly Sound tapes and distribute those on CD-R as well, but that'll be even further down the road, and I may ask for someone else's efforts in organizing that; I'll likely only be good for burning the initial couple of sets. Cheers, Jase NP: The Strokes, _Is This It_ (Yes, the hype machine has been set to overkill with these guys, but goddamn if I'm not enjoying the album anyway.) ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #264 ************************************
