Scarnella? Geez... Didn't know anyone really listened to Scarnella, let alone on this list... I think Carla's the greatest. I love her voice, and her and Nels are great together. Been a big fan since Ethyl Meatplow and Geraldine Fibbers. Haven't heard of Shanon Wright... I'll have to look into that. - -michael =================================== "Look at those disgusting trees... stealing MY oxygen!" -Mink Stole =================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 03:18:29 -0400 From: Jennifer Luu Subject: Headache (Tylenol Mix) Hey, I recently came across a version of "Headache" on the internet that was proclaimed "The Tylenol Mix." It's not a bad remix and I was just wondering if anyone knows who is responsible for this version and/or where it came from-- basically just any background at all. Thanks kids. - -Jennifer NP: Paul Westerberg "World Class Fad" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 05:03:41 -0500 From: moonrisehalos@prodigy.net Subject: 5 senses of liz hi all. my name is carolyn and i'm a lurker. or at least i was. but all of that is in the past now. recently while developing a lesson plan for high school english, i thought of a cool introduction to poetry: describe an abstract concept like curiosity using all five of your senses. then i thought: "hey, this would be interesting to do for liz and/or her music." so i did and it was, or at least i think so. anyway, i'll show you mine if you show me yours. sight - a green traffic light (you know that exhilarating feeling you get when a long light finally changes and you're driving way too fast blaring liz way too loud) sound - laughter (coz it's fun and free and some how beautiful no matter how out of tune) taste - fruit punch (fun) smell - cilantro (weird, i know. it's kinda spicy and refreshing) feels - black lingerie (great, now you all think i'm perverted. i just mean that sometimes it makes a girl feel sexy and daring and a little wild. it's also something that's very personal, that no one else needs to know about.) if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. please respond. i'd love to hear what you guys have to say. and to all of my lurking peers: please feel free to join in on the fun. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 20:36:25 +1000 From: s.fried@ugrad.unimelb.edu.au Subject: Reading, Bands breaking up, new releases >At least there's still a couple of releases pending, but it still feels like the end of an era. Some of my other favorites bands, like Pavement or the Loud Family, have already broken up; others, like Hole, seem to be headed in that direction; and a lot of others are taking breaks right now or are taking years to release anything new (Ms. Phair, anyone?).< According to Holes website, Courtney has been writing their next album in London. And damnit Hole you cant break up, I havent even seen you live properly (well I have but Courtney left the stage early on). And her and Patty Schemel are opening for Janes Addiction on a few dates. As for bands breaking up, At The Drive In have as well as Catatonia. Im not into either of them but they were both ok-ish in my opinion. As for new releases, the Sneaker Pimp's new album's coming out at the end of the month yah! Has anyone heard anything about Jen Trynin? I thought she was up to something but maybe she isn't. God I hope Hole dont break up. Unfortunately I heard that a girl was raped at the recent Reading Festival, anyone else hear anything about this? Sally I dont want to be like other people are, dont want to own a key, dont want to wash my car, dont want to have to work like other people do, I wanted to be free, I wanted to be true New Order (Anyone else got their new album? Its great!) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Oct 2001 07:43:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Easter Subject: Whip-smart Dominic wrote: "I'm a Whip-Smart freak.........By the way, am I the only Liz fan who likes "Whip-Smart" more than "Exile" ???" Not to be a tattle-tale or anything, but I know someone. Perhaps he'll come out of lurking and rave about it too. :0) Anyhoo, I need to start raving about Liz. Everyone knows me as the Beatlefreak and perhaps I should be spontaneous or something, fave band once a week. Dunno, cuz I get plenty of questions of who's that blonde with KB in the pictures I have up. *shrugs* Has anyone heard the new single by Creed? I'm probably one of the few who hasn't heard it yet cuz I don't listen to radio. Patiently waiting for Nov. 20 to roll around.
