LIZ is my favorite artist of all time and your site is the best LIZ site out there. The latter plus the former equals a perfect match for the first site that pops every time I open up a browser. Your site is awesome. I think prolly everyone on the list agrees. Also, did anyone else receive Aimee Mann's B-sides from Jason a while back? If so, could you possibly e-mail me privately with the song lists for the two CDs? I still don't have those. An' just for the record, I don't think those p. 45 pics of LIZ are skanky at all. She is one of the hottest women on Earth and those pics just accentuate her utter beauty. Man, she looks good in those pictures. Anyway, somebody please get back to me about the Aimee Mann song lists if you got 'em. Thanks a lot an' I hope everyone is well. - -Jennifer NP: The Weakerthans, "Aside" - -- Jennifer K. Although Nelly Furtado is cool and all, there is no way she compares to dirty-mouthed, sexed-up Liz Phair. Shirley Manson or Tori Amos vs. Liz Phair would be a little more believable . . . Just curious . . . Are there a lot of Detroiters (or metro Detroiters) on this list? I have noticed quite a few talk about concerts in Detroit. :) Nicole ******************************************************************************** * * * * * * Nicole Marie Eisenmann * * * * * * * * University of Michigan * * * * * * * * neisenma@umich.edu * * * * * * ******************************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Oct 2001 14:49:54 EDT From: HOLEPARTS@aol.com Subject: pete yorn/liz related i was at this q101 block party thing yesterday... nickelback headlined it, but we didnt care about them. we went to see caviar and pete yorn. it took us 3 damn hours to get there from palatine (it was in lincoln park), but it wasnt even in a visible place... it was like, inbetween these two factories! the way we found it, is we literally parked the car, and followed the music.... the place was so ghetto... anyways, we missed caviar, but we got there in time to talk to blake (it was my second time meeting him)... he is really cool. we talked to him for a while. the fact that he was so nice kinda makes me want to forget that i dont really like his music- maybe if i listen to it again ill like it. we also met pete yorn (that was the main reason i went). he was REALLY drunk... like, worse than i have ever seen any other rock star. he couldnt even understand what people were saying to him. he was standing next to this short blonde girl, and for a minute we thought it may have been liz phair, but then we realized it wasnt (i guess it was just some wishful thinking). so anyways, he comes over to us, and signs things for these girls that didnt even know who he was (they were there for luckboy's confusion). then he comes to us- i was actually the only one that had his cd - - kind of looks at us, raises his hand, and leaves. i was kind of annoyed by that, but we figured we may as well go get good spots, and try again after the show. the show was REALLY awesome. of course he drank the entire time and complained there wasnt enough beer.... so after the show it was us, and this other girl we met. we were waiting for him, we could see him, but he wouldnt come over. after the girls brother threatened to take her home, we started yelling for him to come over. he gave us this really drunk look as he turned his face over. we could imagine him as saying something like "dude.... people are like, calling my name, dude... like, maybe i should go over there, dude...." (at least that is what it looked like). so he comes over, and we MAKE him come to us... he signs our things, and we talk for a while (it was more like yelling because he was so drunk he couldnt understand us. we literally had to talk to his assistant person in order to translate things to pete). i asked him about liz, and he says the stuff that she has written for her new album is the best since exile... im really happy about that. we took pictures and all. i guess he was nice, he was just extremely under the influence. im looking forward to seeing him again next month mike ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 07 Oct 2001 16:41:17 -0400 From: Valerie Barry Subject: Re: support-system-digest V4 #255 >...go out and pick up the new Tenacious D album. the Greatest Rock and Roll >Band in the World (self-proclaimed, of course -- i'm still pretty sure it's >Sleater-Kinney, myself) will rock your F***in socks off. i saw them live at >the State Theatre in Detroit this past week, and they were amazing. It will be out at the end of the year, in all good on line bookstores. Mostly on line, since it's a POD book. That's print on demand, a regular paperback, but digitized. So only one copy is printed at a time, your copy. Writing is so cool! Andrea ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #256 ************************************
