Uncle Alvarez is played over the opening credits and scene, and three new songs are featured as the movie carries on. There is an uptempo rocker and then a nice ballad played at length during crucial scenes, and finally there's quite a bleak, slow song (with the recurring lyrics being "She's crazy") over the closing credits. Upon one listening, I liked what I heard very much. The new songs were very crisply produced, and wouldn't have sounded out of place on WCSE. Now, when can we get the soundtrack?! As for the movie itself, if you're curious, it had an oddly Hallmark Hall of Fame/Disneyesque feel to it(except for the liberal use of the "F" word....), considering the subject matter. Lili Taylor is terrific, as always, in the lead role of a New Jersey housewife with two kids who is oppressed by her husband, and Courtney Love does a very good job as the neighbour/best friend. I'll skip any more details to avoid spoiling for anyone who wants to see it...if it ever gets a wider release. Th-th-that's all, folks.
