Name: Trent Age: 20something Home: LA Profession: office drone Although I remember hearing all the hype when Guyville was released and seeing the Supernova video, didn't really discover Liz until ca. late96-early97 when I bought a used copy of Whip-smart on a lark (I remembered not being crazy about Supernova in its day, but had recently seen the Whip-smart video on MTV (120Min probably) and thought it seemed pretty cool). Was immediately hooked, and Guyville and Juvenilia quickly followed. Loved the Brad Wood tracks on WCSE but thought some of the Scott Litt tracks kinda blew. Saw the WCSE tour in 98 (Mayan/LA). Cringed when Capitol got custody of Liz in the Matador split. Finally got a copy of the Girlysound songs about a year ago and fell in love all over again. Kind of suprised to see a pretty active group of folks still devoted to Liz here (but probably shouldn't be -- after all, I'm here too). Newbie questions: What's the deal with the Julie Johnson (Johnston?) soundtrack? Does Liz do all the songs or just one track? Is she actually In the movie? If so, I feel like a jackass for not seeing it when it played a festival here last spring (but, really, how was I to know? It didn't look exactly good....I mean, Courtney Love!?)
