And as for the rumors of faking guitar, I think the volume of her guitar was practically at zero, because you couldn't distinguish her chord progressions from the sounds that you heard. Although I don't doubt that she's a capable musician, she is very determined that she can master any challenge. I think her vocals were 90% live though. Had myself a nice time in the windy city. Managed to stop by a few of Liz's haunts.......I saw the crystal gardens (where I think "Never Said" was partially shot) and the beach at Lake Michigan (also, a "Never Said" landmark) All in all was a great time. When is that damned "Julie Johnson" soundtrack coming out? It is 100% fake. She isn't playing >a note. M'friend Phil was in the studio where the backing tracks for the >whole Madonna tour were mastered. That entire show is flown in on tape, >including a double track for her vocals. I can see the guitar being fake - but her voice wasn't fake. There weren't any vocal back ups - Girlie Show - yes - you can hear them - this - no way. I was close enough to hear her voice even without a mic - you could hear a pin drop. If there were back ups - then her voice matched them to a degree of 100% - which is probably impossible. If her voice wavered - you could hear it. She even skips songs when she thinks she can't play them - she sang "GONE" instead of "You'll See" for example. And she had back up singers...in all honesty - I can't help but question this - because you could hear the strain on her voice - she sounded good - but she sounded "live". No back ups - those are horrible and you can hear them a mile away - also - all the critics are noting how this is her first tour ever - without using vocal back ups. I don't know...don't wanna call your friend a liar - but it sounds like a total stretch to say her vocals were backed up - even if by her own. but either way - fuck it - it's Madonna and it was a show. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #222 ************************************
