Hi again, I've had some of these scans waiting to be seen, but due to webspace problems (mentioned in my last post), I was unable to present them. But now that the problem has been fixed, I present scans from the Japanese magazine "Rockin' On". The first two scans come from the June 1995 issue: http://members.tripod.com/~kenmlee/page743.html http://members.tripod.com/~kenmlee/page744.html (These were taken from the same photo shoot for "Option" November/December 1994 issue.) The next three scans come from the January 1995 issue: http://members.tripod.com/~kenmlee/page744.html http://members.tripod.com/~kenmlee/page745.html http://members.tripod.com/~kenmlee/page746.html (You have seen some pictures from this same photo shoot in 1993/1994 issues of "Rolling Stone".) These pictures are dedicated to Steve Kisko, who enjoys looking at Liz Phair pictures circa 1993/1994. However, today was an exception, being that I was house-sitting and didn't find much else to do. So, I flipped over to VH-1 and there was an hour show called "Pop For Sale." It's main topic was the issue of music being used for commercials, etc. There were a group of approximately seven people discussing their views on why particular acts sell their music in conjuction with fast food commercials, athletic apparel, Microsoft and related ads. While I found most of it uninteresting, the last five minutes of the program definitely caught me eye. It seems Liz was interviewed for her comments about the issue. Basically, she told VH-1 that she believes that the current swarm of notable musicians and performers using their music in such a way will probably die down. While she spoke, they seemed to show a clip of a McDonald's commercial where it looked as Liz was on a stage bending over to shake hands with audience members. I'm not completely sure it was Liz in this clip, but it looked a lot like her. Does anyone know if Liz did such a commercial? And if so, how does everyone feel about it? In any event, it was nice to see Liz again. She still looks radiant and still seems very passionate about music. Let's hope we have some good music to look forward to from her soon. Sometimes, Robbie ps. To those of you wondering my Liz site "The Slick Divide" has been closed. However, I have a reincarnation in the works. More to come soon. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 11:08:07 -0400 From: "broder daniel" Subject: Re: VH-1 I saw it, she was just on for that one bit...it was sorta exciting, cos it was so unexpected... x-stacy - ----- Original Message ----- From: christine m. Thursday night on VH-1there was a thing about artists stlling their music for ads....and who pops up on the TV to talk about it, but our lovely Mrs. Phair. I was shocked, and it took my brain a minute to register, and as I was closing my jaw my brother was like, "Hey, that's Liz Phair" I just caught the end of the show...and she was on for a total of about 37 seconds. Did anyone see the whole thing, and was she on any more?
