Funny story, one day I went to lunch with my friend Nicole and her girlfriend and I had the Life is Sweet CD in my car and she said, "Oh my God, you listen to Maria Mckee" and I said, yep, she's great. And than she told me that she knew (through a mutual friend) MMs mom who lives up in L.A. somewhere and that she knows her brother (who used to play in the 60s band Love) and MM herself (but not very well). I think she is more friends with her mom though but not very good friends I guess... Oh well, I thought that was pretty cool. Haven't asked her anything personal though. I don't think she's spoken to her mom in quite a while though.. Can't wait for MMs new one. I read on MariaMckee.net in her letter that the new album is complete and that they are just waiting for some one to pick it up for distribution. I really liked LIS, totally different from her roots but just as awesome. Well, later, Al:) >Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2001 20:06:19 +1000 >From: Brian Cooper >Subject: Liz in LA > >No, I'm not repeating the news that's already been said, but bugger me with >a fish fork, this Aussie's gonna be in LA at the right time in October! > >But to really make my day, I'd be hoping for a solo show around the same >time and maybe a show by Maria McKee, then I could die a happy man. > >Brian ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Jul 2001 08:54:50 -0700 (PDT) From: Erin Cashel Subject: Liz and Kevin Smith I can't remember if someone mentioned this before, but I just heard from a friend on the VERY inside that Liz has a bit part in the new Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back movie. (Which comes out in two weeks) I'm not exactly sure what she's doing in it, but he said she was at the studio one day and they grabbed her and wrote her in as fast as they could. It all kind of makes sense because I know for a fact that liz and Kevin Smith are friends. Anyhow, just thought I'd pass this along... I'm begging my friend to take me to the premier... He can take one person, so why shouldn't it be me? Erin Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo! The others-he's great, and he did some filming by his store Jay And Silent Bob's Secret Stash (comic books) in Red Bank, NJ. So anyone who see this will see RB. Which is the town I live in. I hope this doesn't sound like bragging but it's so cool to see where you live on the big screen, which is how I felt when Chasing Amy came out and RB was featured so much.
