She said Liz's scenes only took one day to shoot, so it didn't take her away from the album for very long. ===== Steve Rhodes http://www.well.com/~srhodes Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Anyway, apparently the link works, but I couldn't get it to work on this crap university computer; something about a missing plug-in. Let me know what y'all think, if anyone can get it to work. I take it the song is called "Down" (?) but I don't know what record it comes from (soundtrack or new Phair LP): http://www.thedirectorsbureau.com/archive_vault/ascher/archpop_ra_mvid.asp# And I promise I'll get the 6'1" tab posted as soon as I tweak it to perfection. Next few days, I suppose. My initial review after three viewing/listenings....Liz is still as confessional as ever, basically the song appears to be about Jim sleeping around on her during their marriage leading to the divorce...muscially, it's not her best in my opinion, but still damn good, the lyrics are as good as ever... As far as the content, this song is almost like a perfect sequel to "You Go On Ahead" same style, same feel, but here's what happens when the hard times don't get easier. The video -- easily her best work ever....not as low budget "hey we've got a super 8 and lets good around" as her old videos, and more cleverly filmed than Polyester Bride -- very interesting.... And at the end Copyright 2001 Capitol Records, yep definitely a new one.... -- geez, I want the new album NOW. How come we don't know where / what this is from? If there's a video, is there also a single of this song being released? WHEN? Videos aren't just made for random songs for no reason, are they? Where's Ray - the Capitol man with the answers? Hey and in reference to the Elle article -- did ya'll catch the shopping mall in the video? His cheating brought her so down down down she had to go shop shop shop. It all makes sense now. I forgive you Liz. - -LRG ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2001 23:25:37 EDT From: LilRussianGirl@aol.com Subject: Re: New Liz video (apparently) -- WOW Ps - IS that really a government warning of some kind at the beginning? I honestly can't read it thanks to the crappy quality of my AOL player. That said, is there anyone out there technologically smarter than I who has been able to get a WAV or mp3 of this song yet? Oh and BS to anyone who still says that her songs aren't autobiographical. She may not want you to think they are ... or perhaps the truth may only be a small hidden thread, but there is truth there.... I think it's evident in most of her songs.... But that's another rant..and I don't care to open another can of worms yet tonight.... ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #170 ************************************
