I just thought I'd post here to say that all the tapes I was offering have been claimed. I got so many emails that I figured this was the best way to let everyone know. If you haven't heard from me yet, then all the tapes were gone before I got your email. Sorry to everyone who didn't get one! - -Stacey ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 May 2001 15:25:02 -0400 From: owner-support-system@smoe.org (by way of Jason Long ) Subject: Bounced message From: Mike Marlatt Subject: Courtney's makes a cameo If I hadn't of seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it!!!!!!! A show to remember. Here's the wrap up from one of the local papers. - ------ Courtney Love made a revealing appearance at Richard's on Richards Saturday night much to the delight of the audience but to the chagrin of the club's management. The Hole singer had to buy another 10 minutes of performance time by baring her breasts for the benefit of the staffers trying to evict her. Love, in town filming the movie 24 Hours, was on hand to see former Lemonheads' singer Evan Dando, a close friend since the two bands toured together in the early 1990s. The Dando show, which had started at 8 p.m., was supposed to wrap up by 9:30 in order to turn the house for the club's regular disco night. By 10 p.m., with Dando and Love still on stage, the staff were aggressively trying to wrap up the performance. An offer by Love to buy the less-than-full house a drink (on co-star Charlize Theron's platinum credit card, she joked) didn't work, so off came the singer's slinky black halter-top. Love, who also sore a silver swing skirt and black patterned nylons, had jumped on stage for Dando's encore rendition of the Lemonheads' hit "Into Your Arms," her first performance in close to two years. She complained that she couldn't play guitar thanks to her "movie nails" but she took care of that problem by chewing off the offending appendages, destroying a $1,000 manicure in the process. That allowed the singer to perform an acoustic version of her band Hole's hit, "Doll Parts," followed by an improvised jam that offered up lyrics about her life. The tune asked listeners if they wanted to be like her and touched on topics ranging from being strung out on drugs to walking the red carpets of Hollywood. The song also asked the audience if they want to know if she slept with Gladiator star Russell Crowe and talked about hanging out with Liam Gallagher. It also covered her early days in Vancouver pretending to work on the set of 21 Jump Street while actually dancing at the No. 5 Orange strip club. She sounded great and she looked great, reports house sound technician Rob Foort. "I'm kicking myself for not having a tape running," he said. "It was classic."
