Also her early albums were reissued about the same time. They're slightly more folky, but the voice and passion still shows through. I still have vivid memories of the eponymous album. I'd heard 'passionate kisses' and set off around London to get the album (then on Rough Trade records) and couldn't find it anywhere, then i stumbled into the country section of Virgin records and there it was!! I couldn't believe it was a country record. It was glowing amongst all the Dolly Parton's and stuff. Lucinda stayed in the country section for quite a while and on one trip to check out the stuff i saw a 'new' record, picked it up and bought it. And that's how i came to hear VICTORIA Williams for the first time!!!!! Sometimes mistakes aren't bad ones. Excellent album! Any ideas from fellow Lizsters on where to go next with Helium and/or Mary Timony? Also, are there any huge Radiohead fans out there? I'm always getting into bands just a little too late to fully enjoy them -- i can't find their "Airbag / How Am I Driving?" EP anywhere. apparently, it's somewhat out of print. if anyone knows where i can get a copy -- or a tape of the songs on there -- please e-mail me privately and perhaps we can negotiate something. i had picked up Radiohead's "My Iron Lung" EP, and the 7 B-sides are just as amazing as the rest of the songs on "The Bends" album. chris deLisle ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #87 ***********************************
