"It's Cold out there . . . and rough . . . and I was standing 6'1'' Instead of 5'2'' and I looked my height and I hated you." Maybe I missed something that was said earlier, but I can't believe no one got this one. I remember hearing this lyric for the first time and knowing this woman knew what it was all about. Of course I've slowly realized she's just as confused as all of us . . . and that's what makes it so great. I'm babbling. Not to be self-congratulatory (not that that's ever stopped me), but I did get it in my post a day or two ago. Also, isn't the lyric "And I kept standing six-feet-one instead of five-feet-two, and I loved my life and I hated you?" Jason already found the lyric "it's cold out there" in 6'1'' a long time before me. And I got they lyric wrong. "And I kept standing 6'1'' instead of 5'2'', and I loved my life, and I hated you." Sorry folks. james ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 21:55:39 +1100 From: "Alexandra Cicerale" Subject: Re: Liz Busker Cool, where abouts were these buskers performing? I see buskers everywhere and I've never heard any Liz being played! If u are talking cd shops in the city i can recommend a few. I got my Juvenilia and Exile from Gaslight in Bourke St. I found the Supernova single in AuGoGo, off one of the little side streets off Elizabeth St... I can't remember what its called. Collectors Corner on Swanston St. and Heartland Records near the Vic Market are also worth checking out. There are lots hiding away in the city, you have to explore. Good luck with your band. Nice to know the number of Liz fans in Melbourne has increased by one now! :) ~ally~ >Ive just moved to Melbourne for Uni and on Sunday I heard some buskers >playing Polyester Bride! They actually have 3 albums: Let It Bee, Honey Lingers, and Sex & Misery. All are very good. The first is a little less polished and a little more new-wavey, but includes the always-enjoyable "Barbarian In the Back of my Car" In our house, Honey Lingers gets the most repeat play, followed by Sex & Misery, then Let It Bee. I'd suggest buying them in that order. One or all may be out of print, as the band has been defunct for several years now, but I bet you can find them DIRT cheap on Ebay or at your local used CD outlet. I won't make any promises, since I haven't touched my web page in ages, but I DID have a bunch of song clips you could listen to from all of the VotB albums. Check it out at http://musicmark.webjump.com --- click on "music" and find your way from there. - ---Mark _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 21:00:48 -0800 (PST) From: raymond lew Subject: yuck whoa...the site needs to be cleaned up more than i thought. i know, i know, alot of links are messed up. ugh. on the plus side, matador updated their site...i'm not sure how long ago, but it looks pretty cool. ...ray **************************************************************************** "I'm not a praying man...but if you're up there, please save me, Superman!" --Homer J.
