As someone else says, comparing EIG and WCSE is apples and oranges - they are entirely different albums, recorded in different ways and with different goals. I like the gruff attitude and lo-fi sound of EIG. I also love the slicker sound and more emotionally rounded songs of WCSE. Nothing on WCSE makes me want to throw random shit out the window like "Fuck and Run" or "6' 1"" do. Nothing on EIG provokes the melancholy feelings that "Happy" and "Perfect World" do. I can listen to either album 10 times in a row and be perfectly satisfied every spin through. I just play each for different reasons. d - -- Dave Slusher dave_slusher@sff.net http://www.sff.net/people/dave_slusher/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Feb 2001 13:53:39 -0600 From: francisco quinteros Subject: Re: support-system-digest V4 #51 erika, just realized that the mr university pageant is on Thursday. i have to go to that, prior plans. and with the prob set and all...i ditch you, YET AGAIN!!! Not to finger point at anyone directly, I sometimes have concerns for people on this list when they talk about listening to music on the headphones to hear "hidden sounds." From personal experience, it's not worth it. This stems from the fact that I'm hearing impaired and have lost more hearing after listening to music on headphones. This is a really sensitive matter for me, since I've been wearing hearing aids for nearly seventeen years, since I was four. So, if people want to shell out $5,200 for a pair of hearing aids in the future because they were listening to music on their headphones, then that's the reality some will be facing. Just be careful when you go to put those headphones on, because the sense of hearing is not something I take for granted. And yes, hearing aids are that damn expensive. I was fortunate to get a pair of digital hearing aids for free thru vocational rehab and I'm all of a sudden hearing so many different new sounds. You go from a world where people are paid to support you, to the adult world, where people are paid to keep you from succeeding." I like that attitude. People are paid to keep Liz from succeeding. My brain hasn't fully processed this information, but I like that Liz is taking this attitude. I wonder if she was thinking about music when she said this. - -Emil P.S. I hate the wcse layout as well. Totally designed to make Liz seem like the consummate millions-selling pop star, which she'll never be, so what was the point. Precedence: bulk There is a virus going around infecting AOL members computer's and in the subject line is "hey you." DON'T OPEN IT!!! It's a Trojan virus that will infect your AOL and send it to everyone on your buddy list. If you got this from me and accidently downloaded it get rid of it as quickly as possible, don't download it, just delete it. Send this to everyone you know that has AOL. I know that "hey you" is popular subject line but better safe than sorry. This virus mainly infects Windows 98 users but has gotten into some Window 95 systems. The message in the email reads something like "here's 5 or 6 pics that I scanned" don't download even if it is from someone you know, the virus feeds off buddylists and mails everyone who has an AOL email address. Thought if I sent it to the list the word would get out pretty fast. Unfortunately my sister didn't know not to download it, so we are infected and I've been trying for 2 days to rid us of it and I'm still at it, with very little progress. Hope you guys don't get it, it really sucks A LOT. Tessa ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V4 #52 ***********************************
