Searching the globe for hidden Liz material, I came across a German music magazine from December 1994: "musikexpress sounds". I transcribed the original German text, and I made a very *loose* translation using that babelfish program from Altavista. Both the German and English transcriptions of the article are on my site. If anyone wants to take a stab at translating the article into English, feel free to try. I also scanned the picture by Steven Klein (who photographed Liz for the Calvin Klein ads). I don't think many have seen this photo of Liz before. Lots more to come, folks. BTW, does anyone have any comments about the recent stuff I have added to my site? I've posted a lot in the past week or so, but I haven't gotten any responses. Just curious. - -Ken kenmlee@ix.netcom.com MeSmErIzInG - AnOtHeR LiZ PhAiR WeBsItE http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Club/2471/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2001 09:27:08 -0500 From: valerieb@mindspring.com Subject: Re: support-system-digest V4 #23 emil: yes, i've always thought "shane" was gulf war-inspired, no question. a friend of mine was killed there, and i always think of him when i hear it. coldplay: i dig 'em, but the CD makes me sad. and does anyone else think the singer sounds like a british dave matthews? i listen to spinner.com at work, and on the alt 90's station, they play all kinds of liz, as well as heavy rotation on other matador artists. I have been looking for a copy of liz's show at TownHall in NY on 4-24-95 or 4-25-95. If anyone has a copy they could spare, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that there is a recording out there because I was sitting in front of the sound booth and saw that someone had a pocket DAT plugged into the soundboard. Thanks for your help. The lowest price is about $17, but its easier than searching every used and indie shop in the US. xoxox ana ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2001 20:36:22 -0800 (PST) From: Brett Carter Subject: not liz related Hey everybody, This message is for Ana: thank you, it's awesome! Also, this is not Liz-related, but I have to share anyway. If you have not seen the movie 'State and Main,' put it on yr to-do list yesterday. That movie is so hilarious! The first 20(?) minutes are sort of boring, but right after that, the movie is excellent. William H. Macy is so good. I always thought he was a good actor, but I never thought he was a great actor until now. And I don't know her name, but she plays the role of the woman who falls for Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character. She is hilarious. She has my favorite line of the whole movie. PSH asks what she thinks of kids. She says: "I really never saw the point of them." Anyway, back to lurking!
