Liz's songs often contain quotes from or are reworks of other people's songs... the other night I caught a little bit of the hunger... a 1983 vampire flick starring David Bowie... anyway, there is a brief scene were some guy is grooving down to a song that sounded kind of familiar... It was late so I didn't have the volume up too loud so I couldn't hear it too well but the clip sounded a hell of a lot like: For a mean baby, well, I like your pants Born in South Dakota For a mean baby, well, I like your hips Born in South Dakota I was born in South Dakota But I know the words were not exactly the same... I don't think south dakota was mentioned... Anyway...I didn't make it too the end of the film to see the credits and in trying to research it online today, I'm not coming up with much... the soundtrack album seems to only have the instrumental songs on it and the only other mention I've read about is that the movie contained Bauhaus's "Bela Lugosi's Dead" and I'm pretty sure that is not the song. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows of a song that south dakota was based off of? Or if anyone has access to the film, and would check it out to confirm that this other song is quoted by liz in her work that would be great. And if it comes on again this weekend I'll try to catch the end and report back what I find... thanks in advance for any help!
