Whilst flicking through some 2nd hand cds, I came across the compilation album Indie 2000 Volume 5 and discover that Liz is on it! Ya!!! Hopefully Liz's addition (Polyester Bride) has converted some people, maybe. I saw the video for that on Foxtel (Channel V) the other day which surprised me cause they generally play crap videos (Limp Bizkit, Christina Aguilera et al.) I also found that Aimee Mann's Amatuer is on the Sliding Doors soundtrack. She gets on quite a few soundtracks/in films doesn't she? Magnolia, Cruel Intentions, Jerry Maguire, are there any more? Thankyou so bloody much support-systemers for recommending Jen Trynin. I love Gun shy Trigger happy and so does my friend. I've gotten sick of it already cause its basically all I listened to for 2 weeks! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the biggest disappointment of 2000 (at least for me): BLACK MARKET MUSIC by Placebo. DO NOT buy it, its a load of crap compared to their other albums. I've given it about 3 listens. I can't bare it. I'll still see them when they tour though. ******************************** www.chickclick.com Sign up for free email. http://chickmail.chickclick.com Win free stuff! http://contests.chickclick.com ******************************** ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Dec 2000 08:47:59 -0600 From: jimmy Subject: patti rothberg cd for any patti rothberg fans that may be on the list >Candelabra Cadabra, PATTI ROTHBERG'S NEW CD IS OUT! >Just send a check for $16.50 (that's fifteen clams >plus $1.50 for shipping) >make it out to "Patti Rothberg"If you send away quick >you'll git it before the STORES! I know for me I have mixed feeling about The Green World. It sounds great on the radio, but when I listen to the record they sound terrible. It's an album that was over produced a little, and somewhat strained, it sounds like someones idea of what a radio friendly album should sound like. And while I know Dar can get pretty abstract in her lyrics (what is The Ocean and Southern CA wants To Be Westren NY about anyway?) this sounds too abstract. And it also sounds like she wants to be muse to the world, I liked it better when she was making the ordnary sound extraordinary. I love Dar but this was a mistake. But I like It Happens Everyday and I Won't be Your Yoko Ono, and I had No Right a lot period. And if your lucky if you ever get to hear O Canada Girls, on the limited editon Green World CD, it beats everything on the regular album. Although I do wonder why Dar wants to charm the women of Canada so badly:). Andrea ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V3 #332 ************************************
