(please be near > toronto, please be near toronto) The Magnetic Fields are playing two nights, all 69 songs from their most recent release, *including* all original performers -- the usual lineup (Stephin, Claud, Sam, John) PLUS the guest vocalists & instrumentalists (Dudley, Shirley, Daniel, LD). They're playing at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA (right near Boston), next Thursday & Friday, Dec 7 & 8. Tix at http://www.mideastclub.com/tickets.html (I don't know how many are still available, but the show will almost definitely sell out so it's best to order online). It's definitely two nights not to be missed (so don't ask me why I'm missing it) -- the final time that "69 love songs" will be performed in its completeness with the original cast in the U.S. (Folks across the pond, look for them in London January 17-20.) And if you go, be sure to tell LD that I say 'hi'. Catherine. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Dec 2000 04:42:11 -0500 From: Jason Long Subject: [none] Thanks to everyone who offered advice both on-list and off about what CD burners and software to check out. I'm still shopping around trying to find the best deal on a new computer that has everything I want, but I'm hoping to have that settled within a couple of weeks. After that, I'm probably going to wait until after the new year to get the burner itself (gotta get Christmas shopping out of the way first), but I should be burning discs before long. Everyone who has emailed me regarding trades or my offer to burn copies of any Liz bootlegs/rarities I have, don't worry if I haven't responded yet. I've made note of all your requests and I'll let you all know once I have the burner and am ready to start copying things. Since it's almost the end of the year and pretty much all the music that's going to be released this year has been, it's time for our annual tradition: Choose your ten (or however many) favorite albums of the year and post your picks to the list. I'd get the ball rolling myself, but I still have a couple more CDs still in their shrinkwrap that I need to listen to a few times first. Looking forward to reading everyone's choices, Jase ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Dec 2000 15:22:21 From: Kenneth Lee Subject: WCSE Sessions Hi again, For anyone who still wants a copy of WCSE Sessions, here's what you can do.
