Plesent, but a little too easy listening for me. 7 Paperbag Fionia Apple-5 This is from When The Pawn...? I recoginzed Jon Brion's work here, who I know did a lot on that album. I have Tidal, and it's good. This is a great song and I must buy this album. 8 Don't Tell Me Madonna-5 I used to hate Madonna, but now, maybe it's that she spawned unwittingly Britney, I hear Madonna's old stuff on the radio and go 'wow, this is great, why did I hate her?' Is this from her current album? I like the guitar work and the dance beats. Wonderful stuff. 9 She's A Girl Amps-5 segue of the tape, Madonna to Kim Deal, this is what she did after the Breeders split. Have the album, great song. 10 Patti Griffin Mad Mission-5 Have the album, this is the song that hooked me on her. Great song. 11 Best Of What's Around-Dave Mathew's Band-5 there really is something going on here, I'm not a fan of his work but I love this song. Great tape Lani. 12 Thank You Dido-4 I like this song, but I'm not sure I could sit through the album from her. And maybe I'm being oversensitve here, but the fact that she likes Eminem so much makes me rather uneasy. Why-Em's a bigot, homophobic, sexist jerk, and for someone to prase him like this makes me wonder if she agrees with him about, say, gay people. I haven't heard Stan, and I'm not sure I want to. 13 Baby Blue Endliana Torrin (sp?)-4 Thought this was the Badfinger song, and it isn't. Nice stuff, but not my type of thing. 14 Spark Tori Amos-5 Tori's sort of gotten away from me, I don't understand her too much, which started happening on Boys For Pele. But I love this song, even if it is from the album were I felt I'd had enough of Tori. 15 Galaxie Blind Mellon-3 Never liked them all that much, Shannon Hoon whines too much for my taste. This isn't bad, but guys, and I do mean guys, that are oversentive but still macho, which is almost every alt-rocker of the 90's, come off as whiners about their petty little lives. Enough already. 16 Soul Of Me Lynx-4, Not bad, the singer sounds a little like Melissa Ethridge. But I don't like Melissa too much, so I have to say this doesn't do a lot for me. 17 Anglene (sp?) PJ Harvey-4 I've always felt she was overated, another whiner. But between this song and her new song, Good Fourtune, I may change my mind about her. Good stuff, what album is this from? 18 Surprise Luscious Jackson-4 See Kostars comments above. 19 Boys On The Radio Hole-5 Have the album, great stuff, great song. 20 Big Yellow Taxi-Joni Mitchell-5, one of my all time favorite songs. Great album Ladies Of The Canyon too. 21 Gold Dust Woman-Stevie Nicks/Sheryl Crow (live)-5 For some reason I'd thought that Stevie had lost her voice. She still sings very well. Sheryl, who I love, sings a great duet with her. I must pick up this album. Hidden track Ben Harper, Will To Live-4, not bad, but he doesn't do anything for me. Lani, thanks for making this tape, I love it overall. No Liz yet. Or did I just miss her?<< Nope, she hasn't been on yet, as of Wednesday night. I'm personally loving this Top 100 list. I grew up on the majority of these bands throughout the years, and it's bringing back alot of memories, for better or for worse. Haha. Slash's and Dave Mustaine's commentaries have been great so far. Everyone seems to hate Kid Rock just because it's cool to do, but quite frankly he's commented on so many bands because he loves music, plain and simple, just like everyone else. I find nothing wrong with seeing him talk about these bands. That's just me I guess. Can't wait for the rest of the list, especially Stone Temple Pilots coming in at #40 tonight(Thursday)! :D Craig NP: Stoned Immaculate - A Tribute To The Doors __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The recent Billboard thing said mid-2001, so I wasn't getting my hopes up for it to be released before June or July. So, there's a chance it could be out a little earlier? Spill what you know!
