The other members have also joined other bands, most notably, Gail Greenwood, who joined L7. Star and King, are the two extant Belly albums, both are wonderful and different. You can pick them both up in a used record store for cheap. The Record Exchange in Raleigh has them for about $2 each. dennis personal.bellsouth.net/~djkim2 On Thu, 9 Nov 2000, support-system-digest wrote: > Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2000 06:17:35 -0800 (PST) > >From: Easter > Subject: OT: The Corrs - In Blue > > Any Corrs fans on this list? Also, just a general request for everyone whether or not they are using AOL: For now, when posting to the list, please make sure that your mail program is set to send plain-text mail. The majority of the time when a post bounces to me it's because it has contained HTML or some other sort of encoding. Many mail readers cannot read these messages, which is why the smoe.org listserv and most others will bounce them to the list administrator for approval. Once the demime has been installed, it should no longer be an issue. If everyone could also be sure to post from the address they used to subscribe to the list, that would help ensure fewer bounces as well. The listserv will only let messages through from addresses that exactly match one on the subscriber list. If you'd like to change the address you receive the list at if you're having this problem, let me know and I'll make whatever changes are necessary. I'd just like to second all of these recommendations, which I would have made myself had I not already written so much about Sleater-Kinney, Aimee Mann, Jen Trynin and Elastica. I'd also figured after posting so much about Badly Drawn Boy recently, I really didn't need to reiterate what I'd already written. Fact is, though, _The Hour of Bewilderbeast_ is one of the finest records of the year. I also agree with all of Emil's starting points, except maybe _Bee Thousand_ for GBV. It's a phenomenal record, but I tend to play it safe when recommending a band I really love to someone who hasn't heard them before -- usually I'll cop-out and and cite their most accessible work as the one to begin with. In GBV's case, that would be their most recent full-length, _Do the Collapse_. A little more of a gamble, but the one that got me hooked was _Under the Bushes, Under the Stars_, which I picked up after hearing "The Official Ironmen Rally Song" on a CMJ sampler. It's easily one of the most addictive songs in the entire GBV catalogue. By the way, in case anyone is looking to get Liz's "Carnivore" on CD, I found an online retailer that has the Minty Fresh singles anthology listed. The Web site is at . If you do a title search for "Minty Fresh," you should be able to find it. It's a little pricy ($22.55 US), but for a Japanese import, that's not bad. I've never dealt with this company before, so I can't really make any claims as to what their service is like. I've just placed my first order with them -- I'll let you all know how it goes. Just curious, does anyone else know if any good places to order imports from online? The Music Selection site seemed to have a fairly wide variety of titles listed, but it'd be nice to see if there are any similar sites, so at the very least I can shop around to see who has the best prices. Your best bet would be to try the used CD stores first, considering Belly hasen't put anything out in quite a while, in fact, i think they broke up. But they are worth it, the CD's of theirs that I have kick ass!
