My friend's on their mailing list, the Magical Armchair, and one of the people who work with the band told them, so its official. Apparently, its going to be announced publicly soon. According to my friend, Ben wants to live in Adelaide, South Australia, where I am, with his family, wife and twins, and Darren and Robert don't want to move here but they'll going to have solo careers. Didn't like what I heard of Fear of pop so hopefully Ben's solo stuff isn't going to be like that. Fare thee well, Sally "Don't give me that bullshit, you know who I am..." Well, I am functionally able to, I just don't want to anymore. Here is my dilemma...I am 35 years old, and although I swore I would never become a "classic rock radio" listener, the crap they play on the radio is just not for me (wow, I sound like a senior citizen with THAT remark). Anyway, my musical tastes seem deeply rooted in 1995, and every radio station where I live and work (in and around Boston) has become a clone of itself. My once fav ("college radio" 'FNX) has become as mainstream as the corporate rocker (BCN). I am almost at the point now of leaving the car radio on where my 7 year old left it (Bubblegum radio) and find myself singing along to Brittany, Christina and Mandy (another aside--girls simply did NOT look like that when I was 20!!). So, I need a little help from the list to enhance my CD rotation away from Liz, Juliana, Throwing Muses, LTC, Mazzy Star, Spinnanes, Tracy Bonham etc--I need some suggestions of current music I might like that doesn't get played on the radio, but fits my musical faves better than the angry rock of Limp, Korn, Stained and Godsmack (who I must say is really good allthesame). Thanks for letting Grampa Simpson ramble... Jeff ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Nov 2000 09:09:00 -0800 (PST) From: erin c Subject: La Ok, i don`t think anyone ever answered me... The song is kinda fun and I wouldn't mind listening to it a couple more times but MAN does that show look bad. Granted, all I saw was the twenty second lead in but I'm sure I could have watched a little longer to see the other five token sitcom jokes. I have to say that I have really liked LPs songs from male perspectives but it kinda wierded me out hearing her sing from that guy's perspective while I was watching him. Maybe it's just me, Gabe __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? From homework help to love advice, Yahoo! VH1 put the list together by polling a bunch of rockers, which is better than polling a bunch of critics, and the #1 and #2 spots were captured by Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Should be interesting, especially the Liz interview part. Also, I'd be interested to hear someone's review of the Borders Poe n' Bro Tour, since the one I'll see is the last date in Austin on November 13. According to the guy I talked to at Borders, they're doing some sort of joint acoustic performance. This has potential...
