Hey Jase, glad yer gonna pick up "BIG CALM" by Morcheeba!! It's great!!!! Personally, I prefer their first album "Who Can You Trust?" - but BIG CALM is amazing too. I got to see and meet the band about 2 years ago when they played at the MAGESTIC theater. Skye was soooo nice...really sweet..the guys in the band were kinda...weird - not really talkative, but Skye was the sweetest thing ever, she signed my copy of "Who Can You Trust." it was cool. Mind you - their new album DOES NOT impress me. Lyrics like "You and me were meant to be...blah blah the whole world is in harmony" very poppy, very dancey, lots of R&B influence, which is cool...but..i don't know.. just seems like a very VITAMIN C move they took. But whatever. I guess you can't go wrong with Morcheeba...but I'd avoid the new one at all costs. AS for Liz and the new good news!!! Awesome!! At first I was like "Mid-2001?!?! WHAT THE FUCK!!" - then I realized it was already October.. only 2 months left of 2000..so i guess it won't be that long to wait. My guess is - it's gonna come out around the same time WCSE came out..which seems like such a long time...but, i guess we can't really complain. I'm curious if she threw the "An Evening With..." idea out the window or not.. I love the title, especially that it is a studio album and not a live album, like the title suggests. Now we can all start daydreaming and having all those fun talks we had when WCSE was in the make. Do you think any girlysounds will make it on? Do you think Bloodkeeper or Bars of the Bed will show up? Any of the new live goodies she's been playing on her last few tours? WIll she tour?!? What girlysounds would people like to see make it on... I know all of these topics have been exhausted to death...but you all have to admit...it's fun as hell to compile a fake track listing, and what not. at any rate... I'm pulling for "BARS OF THE BED" and "SOmetimes A Dream (Is What Makes you A Slave)" or "IF I Ever Pay You Back". And of course, "You Have No Idea"..but I'm just old school when it comes to liz stuff I guesss.. Those are my votes... alrighty, i'm gone... Also, once the Beatles stopped touring, they were able to devote all of their time to writing and recording, which certainly helped them maintain such a high level of output. Hmm, which made me wonder.. Which situation would people prefer? Liz go to the studio and deliver three or four albums within a five-year time frame and not see her tour OR wait for an album every (insert amount of years here) and hope she'll come to your town while she's on tour for about a year? It will be interesting to hear of people's opinions. Katie ();) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Messenger - Talk while you surf!
