House of Yes...>Spectacular! My favorite movie that she's in is Kicking and Screaming. She wasn't the star but an awesome movie that perfectly depicted an episode of my life and times and friends (anyone else ever been in 5th year?). For those that saw it, I'm Grover. Daytrippers was awesome too. A lot of the cast from that movie was in a movie called Hi-Life (Campbell Scott and the guy who played the gay husband). If you haven't seen Hi-Life (Darryl Hannah and Eric Stoltz are in it too), I highly recommend it. Especially around Christmas! Just writing because I'm having one of those 'revival-of-favorite-album' things at the moment and am listening to EIG all the time again just like I did all those years back when I was in school (it wasn't actually THAT long ago but it seems ages ago now as I sit here in work in rainy Liverpool). Thing I'm finding is that listening to Liz is really making me miss my car at the moment! Reason is - my car was the only place I used to sing out loud to her music (we had pets at my house and it wasn't fair on them for me to sing at home as animals have sensitive ears when it comes to my singing style of 'off-key shouting'). Listening to Liz without singing along is just not the same as silently listening to it so my neighbours and people on the train are suffering at the moment! ha ha - unfortunately it's the only Liz Phair they'll ever here over here. Reason I'm writing is two-fold; I live in Britain and Liz never tours here so next time she picks up her guitar and starts roaming around the US I intend to fly over and catch a show as part of my holidays. Question is - Where's the best place to see her - - Chicago? anybody reccomend somewhere she's likely to tour? Also do any of the list members get together for a few beers before and after shows? If so - - the first round of beers is on me :) Second thing; Chris wrote in about a Liz Phair T-Shirt and after several tragic attempts of my own to make one using blown up photos and overpriced printing places I fancied getting a proper one - anyone know where to get one???? NP - The sound of a printer churning out work (not mine unfortunately as I have been slacking today) NP (in my head) - Divorce song, how come EIG is the only album I can listen to about a hundred or so times and never get bored of it? I think it's because each song sort of tells a story and Liz has a good way of conveying her feelings and emotions through songs, other songs seem to get repetitive because they lack this 'it actually happened' feel to them (even though they might not have actually happened they seem that way). Enough ranting - better earn my wage now.
