Their albums dates back to the late 70s up > until the late 80s when the band broke up. yeah, i'll second that recommendation as well. the go-betweens, like the smiths, are the masters of no-frills guitar pop. and "rachel worth" is a good place to start checking them out. - -vasant ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2000 07:31:47 -0700 (PDT) From: sarah Subject: press release, happy the press release: I wrote a digest or so ago about the ridiculously funny press release I had recieved. I ran it by my pal who used to work at matador and got the full skinny on it. gerard is most definitely the author, and this is apparently a common sort of "press release" that went out on his behalf. the guy is some sort of humor madman. god bless his deranged soul. I wasn't aware, maybe you all were, that brad wood had worked on wcse. the sessions that many of us are familiar with were the work of scott litt (includeding track 22 on disc one, being the BEST version of "what makes you happy), while the finished version (dancy version which I hate of "happy") was brad wood. what a pisser, the man who created the stripped bare "exile" was also the one who technoed up "happy." I personally think "happy" could have been a great single for that album, and propelled it commercially, but the album version just doesn't do the song (or liz's voice) justice. my new choice for producer of next cd is no longer liz: viva SCOTT LITT!!! s. np: Dr. John "Goin' back to New Orleans" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
