Incase anyone cares. I personally like them, and have for a while. Honestly, their fan base may mostly consist of teenage boys rebelling against everything american, but so be it. At least there are kids out there that know talent and aren't blowing an o ring over Britney and Christina... not that theres anything wrong with that... [just ain't my type of music]. And yep, their ages shocked me at first too, but they were teenagers when they started. As far as I know, Morgan Lander, the lead vocalist, is 18 now. But I guess they'll still be teenagers until they turn 20. But back to the album, I really don't see "Brackish" being any different from the rest of the album other than being a bit more up tempo. They still threw in the f word a few times, just like all the other songs. [save for "Immortal" of course]. I see "Charlotte" as being the most different. In comparison to "Do You Think I'm A Whore?", "Raven" and "Suck", I think "Charlotte" is the most tame of all the tracks. Thats just my opinion though. other stuff... Morgan has a great voice, and they all have a lot of talent for being as young as they are. And.....um.....er.... I like it when Morgan growls. Although it's funnier to hear her rap... like that cover they did of Da Brat's "Da Shit Ya Can't Fuc Wit". Now thats a trip. Now I'd like to hear Kittie do "Baby One More Time". I bet Britney would just love that, but I bet it would kick ass. Anyway..... Was anyone else kind of dissapointed with Mtv's Video Music Awards? (live performance wise). Just wondering. I found most of it annoying. - -Michael - ----------------------------------------------------------------- GENERIC SIGNATURE FILE "I'd like to take you down And show you deep inside My life, my inner working of smell And lack of inner pride To touch upon the surface Is not for what it seems I take away my problems But only in my dreams" -Morgan Lander [KiTTiE] - ----------------------------------------------------------------- SUPERNOVA: A Liz Phair Web Site http://suprnova.lunamorena.net mhonaker@eurekanet.com ICQ: 51316533 - ------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2000 05:03:39 -0400 From: Jason Long Subject: Bounced message From: "Chris DeLisle" Subject: Liz products, etc. a "perfect" catch-phrase for a whole slew of products: "i wanna be mesmerizing, too!" Mesmerizing Shampoo, Mesmerizing eye products, Mesmerizing perfume, etc, etc, etc. on a completely different note, has anyone ever listened to the band Rainer Maria? i picked up their "look now look again" the other day and it's pretty damn great. i wanted to see what "emo" music was (i'm still not sure what it is in comparison to other genres), and i've been pleasantly surprised by it. not sure how to describe it: another cute girl sings lead in a guitar-bass-drums trio, the guitars aren't overbearing, it's fairly tight music, it rocks and it's mellow. Har har. Glad I left him alone at the computer for 5 minutes. Sorry for wasting the bandwidth, both then and now. I now have yet *another* female artist to hunt for while perusing the used cd bins. And Jase, I still stand by my nomination of "Mesmerizing" as Liz's Stairway song. I mean when you think of that song it just *is* Liz. And while things are slow, let me throw out another artist (and I will be absolutely *amazed* if anyone under 30 has even heard of them let alone has any of their work)...... Aphrodite's Child (or more specifically their "St.John - 666 - Apocalypse album".)
