It should show you how to finger properly and tune and restring and all that. Learn a couple of scales and practice them to develop dexterity, finger strength/endurance, and calluses. Calluses are important. So is cutting your fingernails on your fingering hand. Better yet, find a friend or aquaintance who knows how to play and have him/her show you the basics. I started by reading a book and downloading guitar tablature off the net and trying to play songs that sounded simple and that I liked. After I could play stuff like Nirvana songs ("About a Girl") and stuff like that, i shelled out $55/month for one half-hour lesson a week at a guitar shop and learned some more advanced stuff. It's not a huge time investment to get lessons. Have fun. ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V3 #238 ************************************
