I called home to tell a friend to get tickets, hopefully there are still some on sale. i hate not having my usual local radio station and keeping up on who is coming in concert...i feel so out of it. >> i am going to be there! i got my tickets a few weeks ago... im pretty sure there are many still available. i saw them at summerfest up in milwaukee on the 7th and they were SO awesome. i was in like, the second row and it turned out to be such a rocking, yet intimate performance. louise really knows how to perform. the new band sounds great, and i even got to meet all of them after the show! they were so cool. they performed a bunch of louise's old VS stuff, but nina's "seether" (an awesome slower version), and "volcano girls". you will enjoy it!!!' mike ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2000 04:00:08 EDT From: Biggerd000@aol.com Subject: Re: support-system-digest V3 #215 welll here am i with some rambling from me its been a while i saw that people were talkin about there fav song and even mentioning the lyrics to the songs i cant pic a favorite liz song i usually go by album like i will listen to exile one month then whip smart the next then girly sounds is being played in between and as for w.c.s.e. that actually comes into my cd rotation once every six months sad to say but like tonight i took whip smart to work cause i was in the mood for liz and i wanted to hear her musically i think whip smart is her best album musically i dont know it just seems that she was just soo fargin creative when makin this album and even lyrically its awesome i love that chant of i wont decorate my love i wont decorate my love but exile seems to be the perfect first release for an artist like her i mean it seems like she wasnt tryin to be famous(though non of her albums seems like she is tryin to make money or sell out as it has been called) exile just seems like an honest album by some song writer that wanted to put out an album regardless of its success so as far as liz goes i cant pic a particular song they all rule at differant times if i pic a fav. now by morning it will be another song i will leave you with some lyrics that i like alot by 3 of my fav. bands they are just a few lines from each ween: birthday boy last time i saw you i was holdin yr hand, and i couldnt wait for you to leave i knew right then that it was over and done, and i couldnt believe that i was free i have been there and know exactly whow gene ween feels when he says this in fact i wish i wrote this song if you have a chance to hear ween do birthday boy acousticly its soooooo beautiful you can hear it on real player at dan erats page its the wnew show neutral milk hotel:sinking ship a portrait of my father as a baby sleepin underneath the stars though every neutral milk song is awesome this line is the one that has my attention at the moment i just love thinkin about my parents when they were young i dont know its just hard for me to picture and an image like the one these lyrics give it just seems so beautiful to me hank williams sr.:dear brother she left this world with a smile on her face whisperin the saviors name dear brother mamma left us this morning to the city where there is no pain again about parents and in this case the mother died i dont know i guess i just love my mom soo much as does everyone else and everyone gets the same feeling from this song its kinda depressing but what songs can we relate to that arent depressing anyway this email has ran much longer then i ever thought it would its four a.m. and i need some sleep i am so happy to be on a mailing list where i can just type my heart away to try to express a feeling on somethig and also to get to hear some new liz news and to just hear/read what other liz fans are like dan i miss gunshygirl and i mean the real one jaime does anyone else remember her damn she was cool ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2000 09:22:40 -0600 From: David Lavetts Subject: Re: whitechocolatespaceegg Rocket Boy, Russian Girl, Stuck on an Island, Tell Me you Like Me, Waiting for the Bird, Freak of Nature, Bars on the Bed, Blood Keeper. Are there any songs that you think had they been on the >album, would have made it a stronger record? Hmmm..tough question and one i think will be hard to answer for anyone...sorta of a what if? and those are not easy....ummm...i think liz will always be a minor player as far as status goes..don't get me wrong i love liz incredibly both as a performer, guitarist and songwriter but i think her nitch is just where she is - comfortably making a living but never the superstar status of other performers - and that is fine with me..i never heard any of wcse played on any of the radio stations here in tampa...i don't think a track changing would have made much of a difference at least here... What would your ideal version of WCSE consist of, among both the tracks that were released and those that weren't? There are a few tracks that come to mind but overall i think wcse stands by itself as a good piece of work. I wish liz would either do a album of covers or a live album... watching the raindrops... WCSE was the first of liz's CD's that i bought, although i do remember hearing Supernova and a few others way back when. I got hooked because i heard Polyster bride on the radio, and after singing it for about 2 weeks, my friends begged me to buy the CD (my singing was killing them). I now have both EIG and Whip Smart, EIG being my favorite of the three and then WCSE. I think i dont like whip smart as much just because i dont listen to it as much. later christine ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2000 14:12:36 EDT From: LazyKimber@aol.com Subject: wcse wcse was my first liz cd. i used to hear polyester bride everyday on the way too school on the lsu radio station. i loved it. i thought it was the most clever/amazing song i had ever heard. then one day casually strolling through the walmart, i begged my dad to buy it for me. i remember saying "c'mon dad its the alligator cowboy boots song." so he bought it. and i loved it. it stuck to my stereo, constantly on in the background. it wasnt till the summer i went to see lilith that i bought another liz cd. i knew she was gonna be there and was pshyced to see her do that "supernova" song that was also constantly on the radio. but then we went on the day liz wasnt there and i was kinda depressed. so when we got home i searched for the supernova cd (which was whipsmart). i found it and loved it and then bought exile. now im a liz addict and am trying to spread her music to all my friends. i think that the sound is different between wcse and exile and whipsmart. i dont know which i prefer i like all of it. to me it sounds like a natural progression liz's voice grows more polished and slick from girlysounds to wcse and the new stuff. i think that her worst is still better than others best and i dont know if i would change wcse or not.
