(gosh, wouldn't it be awesome if washpost.com could get liz to do this when she releases her next album????) if you can't find the transcript from luna online just email me and i'll help ya. anyway, my friend always brings gifts for the band and got us backstage in nyc a few mths ago and on friday got us backstage in dc. besides brian having one too many gin and tonics, being backstage rocked. i spoke with dean and he even gave me a piece of gum called 'stimorol (sp??)'. it was interesting--sorta had a ny-quill taste. so a bit later dean asks who could drive them back to the hotel so KATIE says 'we can, WE CAN'. so.........guess what? we (katie, chris, brian and i) drove dean and britta (bassist) (hey MARK, i GOT TO SIT NEXT TO HER!!!!!!!!) back to their hotel (actually the exxon across the street). they had a very nice ride too b/c brian had just purchased a brand new, 2000, VW something or other, gulf?? it was great. (imagine if liz asked her fans to drive HER home???) so, i hope possibly katie and brian will write in w/ their details also b/c i AM missing quite a few (katie's verbals w/ a british guy as he STOLE our parking space, the passing out of the trident and dentyne, tommy NOT drinking =) , brian 's many, many comments and actions we had to remind him of the next morning(dean signed his shrit "brian is a punk")....and the list goes on.) so...........sorry i posted about LUNA to the liz list but luna is tied w/ liz for being one of my fave bands and this was the ultimate fan experience. i'm willing to share luna and galaxie 500 w/ anyone who wants a copy of the tape i made for my liz fest peeps, just email me. okay. so enough from me. i'm going to see natalie merchant and wilco monday nite. should be interesting but i'm sure not as interesting as luna. take care. lynda ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Jul 2000 22:11:58 EDT From: MangoHula@aol.com Subject: luna squared here's a link to pics that someone at the luna show took....... http://tibowers.home.mindspring.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jul 2000 01:08:26 EDT From: HOLEPARTS@aol.com Subject: Re: nina? or the dixie chicks? I dig the new album , but being a country fan i couldn't help but notice the country twang in some of the songs. but it kind of makes me shudder. anyways, i saw the promise ring at summerfest in milwaukee and it was sweet. katie >> i hear lots of different elements in Nina's genius new album, but none of them are country! maybe teh way she sings them... im trying to think of what you had in mind, and the only think i can imagine is nina's voice being a little country-ish. but even that is very far-fetched. i dont care what anyone says, her album is awesome mike ------------------------------ End of support-system-digest V3 #185 ************************************
