Does anyone recommend any of the other groups or > singers on their killrockstars label? well, if you like liz, you'll probably like elliott smith and/or mary lou lord, although neither of them are on KRS nowadays. you could also try heavens to betsy or excuse 17, both pre-SK bands, though be warned that they are more punk & less pop than S-K. the bangs are sort of a new wave, poppier version of S-K. one of my favorite KRS bands is unwound, though they're quite noisy & abrasive, and not for everyone. but i would try elliott smith's "either/or" & mary lou lord's self-titled EP, both on KRS. - --vasant ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jun 2000 12:13:24 -0400 From: "Vinny Perez" Subject: Hello Greetings! I've been lurking around here for the past several months and I thought it was probably time to introduce myself. I've been listening to Liz non-stop since a friend re-introduced me to the music back when Liz was touring with Alanis. After that show it was three shows on the college tour in three weeks! I had the pleasure of meeting her, Janet, and Mario after the show in Baltimore last spring and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I just wish I had brought a camera, but I'll never forget that show. Liz is always loaded up in the car and I've been collecting bootlegs left and right. My friends all think I'm crazy............. I've met a few of you through trading some CDs and everyone from this list seems really cool and friendly. I guess what finally got me to post was the LizPhest postings. Sounds like a really great time was had by all, but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it. :-( I'll have to put it on my list for next year! I live near Baltimore, MD and I noticed some people writing in from Northern VA and Delaware. It would be great to get together with some other Liz fans in the Mid-Atlantic area. My musical tastes seem to be a bit different from many people I know, so I am often looking for concert buddies as well. E-mail me privately if you are interested in setting up a get together with people in the area. I also travel regularly to Omaha, NE for work, so if there are any fans in that area, I'd love to meet. Well, that's all for now. Thanks to Jase and everyone for a great list and a great community of Liz fans!
